Abstract

We present Sapiens2, a model family of high-resolution transformers for human-centric vision focused on generalization, versatility, and high-fidelity outputs. Our model sizes range from 0.4 to 5 billion parameters, with native 1K resolution and hierarchical variants that support 4K. Sapiens2 substantially improves over its predecessor in both pretraining and post-training. First, to learn features that capture low-level details (for dense prediction) and high-level semantics (for zero-shot or few-label settings), we combine masked image reconstruction with self-distilled contrastive objectives. Our evaluations show that this unified pretraining objective is better suited for a wider range of downstream tasks. Second, along the data axis, we pretrain on a curated dataset of 1 billion high-quality human images and improve the quality and quantity of task annotations. Third, architecturally, we incorporate advances from frontier models that enable longer training schedules with improved stability. Our 4K models adopt windowed attention to reason over longer spatial context and are pretrained with 2K output resolution. Sapiens2 sets a new state-of-the-art and improves over the first generation on pose (+4 mAP), body-part segmentation (+24.3 mIoU), normal estimation (45.6% lower angular error) and extends to new tasks such as pointmap and albedo estimation. Lens: Rethinking Training Efficiency for Foundational Text-to-Image Models

We introduce Lens, a 3.8B-parameter T2I model that achieves performance competitive with, and in several cases surpassing, state-of-the-art models with more than 6B parameters across various benchmarks, while requiring significantly less training compute. For example, Lens requires only about 19.3% of the training compute used by Z-Image. The training efficiency of Lens stems from two key strategies beyond its compact model size. First, we maximize data information density per training batch by (i) training on Lens-800M, a dataset of 800M densely captioned image-text pairs whose captions are generated by GPT-4.1 and contain approximately 109 words on average, providing richer semantic supervision than conventional short captions, and (ii) constructing each batch from images with multiple resolutions and diverse aspect ratios, thereby enlarging the effective visual coverage of each optimization step. Second, we improve convergence speed through careful architectural choices, including adopting a semantic VAE that provides better latent representations and employing a strong language encoder that accelerates optimization while enabling multilingual generalization from English-only training data. After pre-training, we apply RL with taxonomy-driven prompts (Lens-RL-8K) and structured reward rubrics to suppress artifacts and improve visual quality, a reasoner module with training-free system prompt search to better align user requests with the model, and distillation-based acceleration for 4-step inference. Through efficient training and systematic optimization, Lens generalizes to arbitrary aspect ratios from 1:2 to 2:1 and resolutions up to 1440^2, and supports prompts in several commonly used languages. Thanks to its compact size, Lens generates a 1024^2 image in 3.15 seconds on a single NVIDIA H100 GPU, while its distilled turbo version performs 4-step generation in 0.84 seconds.

DETRPose: Real-Time End-to-End Multi-Person Pose Estimation via Modified Transformer Decoder and Novel Denoising Keypoints

Multi-person pose estimation (MPPE), which involves detecting body joint positions (keypoints) for every person in an image, is a fundamental task in computer vision. Despite recent advances, no transformer-based model currently achieves real-time performance. This work addresses the latency challenge by introducing DETRPose, the first family of real-time, end-to-end transformer models for multi-person 2D pose estimation. DETRPose significantly enhances the GroupPose decoder, enabling real-time inference. For training, a novel denoising keypoint technique is proposed to accelerate convergence. The varifocal loss is also extended for keypoints, termed Keypoint Similarity VariFocal loss, to improve query quality. Extensive evaluation demonstrates that DETRPose models achieve accuracy comparable to or exceeding that of leading alternatives while requiring five to ten times fewer training epochs. DETRPose-S matches the accuracy of YOLOv8-Pose-X and YOLO11-Pose-X on the COCO dataset (67.0 vs 67.3 and 67.2 in AP) with 81% fewer parameters (11.5M vs 69.4M and 58.8M) and 52% faster inference speed (2.39ms vs 5.23ms and 4.93ms). On the CrowdPose dataset, DETRPose-X has 13.1×13.1\times fewer FLOPs (232.3G vs 3048.1G) and only 22% fewer precision (75.1 vs 76.6 in AP) than ED-Pose-SwinL-5S. On the OCHuman dataset, DETRPose-S surpasses all previous models, showing the robustness of DETRPose on out-of-distribution datasets. Code is available at https://github.com/SebastianJanampa/DETRPose

ISAC: Training-Free Instance-to-Semantic Attention Control for Multi-Instance Generation

Recent open-weight text-to-image (T2I) diffusion models still struggle with multi-instance prompts, often omitting or merging instances and mixing semantics among similar objects. We trace these failures to early denoising steps, before instance boundaries are reliably stabilized. Existing training-free guidance is largely driven by cross-attention or other token-conditioned semantic signals. Such guidance can separate concepts at the token level, but largely assumes that distinct instance regions have already emerged. In early denoising steps, it cannot reliably carve out these regions, so count failures and semantic mixing persist. By contrast, self-attention exposes class-agnostic instance layouts during early denoising. To exploit this asymmetry, we propose ISAC\textbf{ISAC} (I\textbf{I}nstance-to-S\textbf{S}emantic A\textbf{A}ttention C\textbf{C}ontrol), a training-free, model-agnostic objective that first stabilizes self-attention layouts and then binds cross-attention semantics within them, without fine-tuning or external vision models. Across T2I-CompBench, HRS-Bench, and our newly curated IntraCompBench, ISAC consistently outperforms prior training-free methods. Furthermore, ISAC enhances layout-to-image controllers by refining coarse, overlapping bounding boxes into dense instance masks.
