Abstract

Video generation models are becoming a scalable form of world models, but they mainly generate plausible motion rather than proactively control or optimize the underlying dynamics. As a result, an object in the generated video may follow trajectories that are unsafe, not smooth, inefficient, or physically inconsistent. In this work, we propose \textbf{OptiWorld}, a framework that brings classical optimal control into video generation at inference time. OptiWorld first extracts a compact, task-relevant world state, then plans an optimal trajectory under physical constraints, and finally renders the video conditioned on this trajectory. We formulate planning as a geometric problem on a continuous manifold, which converts 3D geometry and task-dependent physical constraints into a unified planning geometry. By adding this optimal-control layer, OptiWorld generates videos with preferable dynamics, demonstrating strong potential in multiple tasks including goal-conditioned image-to-video generation, video dynamics editing, and counterfactual generation.

WorldDirector: Building Controllable World Simulators with Persistent Dynamic Memory

We present WorldDirector, a highly controllable video world model framework designed for persistent dynamic object memory and unrestricted viewpoint exploration. Unlike existing world models that entangle physical dynamics with pixel rendering and rely on continuous visual observation to sustain motion, our framework explicitly decouples semantic motion orchestration from visual generation. By leveraging an LLM to coordinate 3D trajectories with camera movements and subsequently employing these orchestrated trajectories as control signals for video generation, our approach ensures strict physical logic and appearance stability, successfully preserving the exact visual identities of dynamic entities even when they re-enter the scene after prolonged periods out of view. Experimental results demonstrate that our method supports the synthesis of complex and extended events with unprecedented controllability and persistent dynamic object memory. Off-Manifold Refinement: Guiding Video Generators with a Frozen World Model

Modern video generators routinely fail at physical dynamics: objects float, trajectories violate gravity, contacts vanish. Standard denoising and flow-matching objectives fit visual data distributions but do not explicitly penalize such physical violations. Existing remedies can improve physical consistency, but typically add substantial inference or training cost. Candidate-selection methods generate and score multiple videos, while gradient-based world-model guidance repeatedly decodes and re-encodes intermediate estimates. Generator-internal refinement adds perturbation and re-denoising loops, whereas post-training requires curated data and additional optimization. We propose Off-Manifold Refinement (OMR), an inference-time method that instead injects world-model feedback directly into a single sampling trajectory. During scheduled middle ODE steps, we augment the generator velocity with the gradient of an adapter-space V-JEPA 2.1 surprise energy. This external correction can move the latent away from the uncorrected sampling trajectory and toward regions ranked as more physically plausible by the frozen predictor, after which the generator continues rendering from the corrected state. A small trained latent-to-embedding adapter keeps the gradient tractable at inference, and both the video generator and the world model remain frozen. On our fixed 400-prompt VideoPhy-2 detailed subset, OMR lifts the joint Semantic-Adherence-and-Physical-Commonsense metric from 47.0% to 52.0% (+5.0pp absolute, +10.6% relative) over the base Wan2.2-T2V-A14B sampler. On a separate fixed 50-prompt efficiency subset, it requires 1.71×1.71 \times the base runtime rather than the multiplicative cost of reward/search alternatives. World Narrative Model for Highly Controllable Video Generation: A Paradigm Shift from Pixel Sampling to Physical World Orchestration

The fundamental obstacle to industrial grade video generation is the lack of controllability: existing models treat video as a pixel distribution sampling problem, bypassing the explicit, instance level 4D4D (3D+T)(3D + T) physical world. Consequently, content creators cannot specify geometry, motion, camera parameters, or lighting in a deterministic, quantitative way, leading to the infamous ''gacha'' loop that makes professional content creation prohibitively inefficient and expensive. To address this, we introduce the World Narrative Model (WNM), a paradigm that decouples what to render -- the structured physical narrative -- from how to render -- the pixel generation process. WNM replaces end-to-end black-box sampling with orchestrated 4D4D pre-visualization for media generation. Collaborative agents translate sparse multimodal inputs, including text, reference videos, and sketches, into a fully editable world representation with scene geometry, object layouts, character/animal skeleton motion, trajectories, camera motion, and lighting at quantitative, physically meaningful granularity. This representation acts as a deterministic structural blueprint that drives existing video foundation models, either frozen or lightly adapted, to render final footage, turning the base model into a faithful neural shader. Built on this engine, our human-AI platform supports automatic world generation and pre-visualization aligned with professional filmmaking pipelines, while director consoles enable seamless human refinement. Experiments show that WNM greatly reduces probabilistic ``gacha'' calls and produces videos whose layout, motion, and cinematography closely follow creator intent. The framework is open and modular, allowing each component, such as world representation, control agents, and adapters, to be independently improved.
