Abstract

Faithfulness -- how precisely a generated image aligns with its prompt -- is increasingly central to the real-world utility of text-to-image (T2I) models. Existing faithfulness benchmarks, however, rely on simple atomic instructions, on which top-tier systems already achieve near-perfect scores. As T2I models enter creative workflows, users issue multi-faceted requests combining intricate spatial relationships, stylistic constraints, and complex text rendering. In this setting, a single binary VLM-judge score no longer captures which specific constraints the model fails to satisfy. We introduce Arena-T2I Hard, a 310-prompt stress benchmark drawn from real arena T2I logs, with approximately 30 decomposed yes/no constraints per prompt spanning six categories, including text rendering. The strongest closed-source system we evaluate reaches 0.855 with a 33~pp performance gap across 11 systems, demonstrating substantial discriminative power. Moreover, high public-arena rankings fail to predict faithfulness, confirming that holistic Bradley-Terry (BT) preference scores prioritize aesthetics over fine-grained prompt adherence. We propose a dependency-aware checklist reward that decomposes each prompt into a DAG of yes/no questions and zeroes descendants of failed parents, turning faithfulness into a per-constraint training signal. Combined with a BT aesthetic reward via group-decoupled normalization (GDPO), which standardizes each reward within its rollout group so neither collapses, the recipe attains a strictly better faithfulness-aesthetics trade-off on SD3.5-Medium and FLUX.1-dev under MMRB2 pairwise comparisons than every single-reward, naive weighted-sum, or 4-reward BT-ensemble baseline.

TIIF-Bench: How Does Your T2I Model Follow Your Instructions?

The rapid advancements of Text-to-Image (T2I) models have ushered in a new phase of AI-generated content, marked by their growing ability to interpret and follow user instructions. However, existing T2I model evaluation benchmarks fall short in limited prompt diversity and complexity, as well as coarse evaluation metrics, making it difficult to evaluate the fine-grained alignment performance between textual instructions and generated images. In this paper, we present TIIF-Bench Text-to-Image Instruction Following Benchmark), aiming to systematically assess T2I models' ability in interpreting and following intricate textual instructions. TIIF-Bench comprises 5,000 prompts organized along multiple dimensions and categorized into three levels of difficulty and complexity. To rigorously evaluate robustness to prompt length, each prompt is provided in both short and long versions with identical core semantics. We further propose a novel Global Normalized Edit Distance (GNED) metric for text rendering and provide aspect-ratio-diverse reference images for each prompt to assess style control. In addition, we collect 100 high-quality designer-level prompts covering diverse scenarios for comprehensive evaluation. To enable scalable and fine-grained evaluation, we explore the best paradigm for leveraging the world knowledge encoded in large Vision-Language Models (VLMs) as automated binary evaluators. Through extensive ablations, we develop a fully reproducible evaluator that provides interpretable reasoning and reliable verification, enabling our benchmark to discern subtle variations in T2I model outputs. Through comprehensive benchmarking of mainstream T2I models on TIIF-Bench, we analyze the strengths and weaknesses of current T2I systems and reveal the limitations of existing evaluation benchmarks. AtelierEval: Agentic Evaluation of Humans & LLMs as Text-to-Image Prompters

Text-to-image (T2I) systems increasingly rely on upstream prompters, either humans or multimodal large language models (MLLMs), to translate user intent into detailed prompts. Yet current benchmarks fix the prompt and only evaluate T2I models, leaving the prompting proficiency of this upstream component entirely unmeasured. We introduce AtelierEval, the first unified benchmark that quantifies prompting proficiency across 360 expert-crafted tasks. Grounded in a cognitive view, it spans three task categories and instantiates tasks using a taxonomy of real-world challenges, with a dual interface for both humans and MLLMs. To enable scalable and reliable evaluation, we propose AtelierJudge, a skill-based, memory-augmented agentic evaluator. It produces subjective and objective scores for prompt-image pairs, achieving a Spearman correlation of 0.79 with human experts, approaching human performance. Extensive experiments benchmark 8 MLLMs against 48 human users across 4 T2I backends, validate AtelierEval as a robust diagnostic tool, and reveal the superiority of mimicry over planning, advocating for an image-augmented direction for future prompters. Our work is released to support future research.

Qwen-Image-Bench: From Generation to Creation in Text-to-Image Evaluation

Text-to-Image generation has evolved from basic image synthesis into a frequently used core capability in professional creative workflows, where simple text-image alignment can no longer satisfy users' pressing demands for faithful real-world reconstruction and genuine creative expression. Existing benchmarks, however, remain anchored in these foundational criteria and do not yet capture the nuanced capabilities that matter in authentic artistic practice, making it difficult to reliably distinguish state-of-the-art T2I models. To address the gap, we introduce Qwen-Image-Bench, a creator-centric benchmark co-designed with professional artists and grounded in real-world creation scenarios. Qwen-Image-Bench enriches conventional evaluation with two application-driven dimensions: Real-world Fidelity and Creative Generation. Drawing on the staged reasoning inherent in professional artistic workflows, we organize these five pillars into a top-down hierarchical taxonomy that further decomposes into 23 second-level sub-capabilities and 56 third-level verifiable rubrics. To ensure broad coverage, we curate 1000 stratified prompts with each prompt jointly exercising more than four fine-grained facets across multiple pillars. We train a unified judge model Q-Judger based on Qwen3.6-27B, supervised by 80 professional annotators from global art academies under blind labeling and triple-review protocols, that scores every image across all 56 verifiable facets, producing fine-grained, rubric-grounded, and fully attributable diagnostics rather than a single opaque score. Empirically, Qwen-Image-Bench reliably distinguishes leading T2I models, achieving the greatest separation on the two application-driven dimensions of Real-world Fidelity and Creative Generation where existing benchmarks provide little insight, while also providing a trustworthy optimization signal for production-level T2I development.
