Abstract

Generating immersive, synchronized and cinematic audio for long-form textual narratives remains a significant challenge in multi-modal AI. While current Text-to-Audio (TTA) frameworks successfully synthesize isolated sound effects, they struggle with narrative cohesion, temporal alignment, and cinematic emotional depth. We present BackgroundMellow, a framework that treats story-to-audio generation as a precise orchestration and signal processing problem. This framework is enabled without ground-truth through a master-specialist agent architecture that decomposes text into precise and multi-layered audio cues, generates each category of sounds with suitable specialist model, and superimposes the soundscapes to create a unified and aligned audio segment. Our pipeline is built over Tango2 latent diffusion model for environmental synthesis alongside a novel Cinematic BGM Retriever mined from professional soundtracks. To automate the sound mixing process, we use an NLP based module that predicts precise audio parameters, like start time, duration, and relative loudness, based on the narrative timeline. We further empirically evaluate and show the efficacy of the proposed framework leveraging nearest-neighbor retrieval against a curated dataset of YouTube cinematic trailers to measure temporal synchronization, coverage, and spectral richness.

Dasheng AudioGen: A Unified Model for Generating Coherent Audio Scenes from Text

Audio generation has long been fragmented, with speech, music, and sound effects produced by domain-specific models that fail to jointly generate coherent audio scenes from a single description. The key obstacles are insufficient fine-grained supervision for real-world mixed audio and limited acoustic representations for modeling concurrent audio components. We present Dasheng AudioGen, a unified framework for generating general mixed-audio scenes from text. Dasheng AudioGen introduces structured multi-view captions, which explicitly decouple complex acoustic scenes into complementary description views, thereby enabling fine-grained control over audio layers. Furthermore, we employ a high-dimensional unified semantic-acoustic representation as the shared latent space. It injects semantic priors that facilitate cross-modal training convergence, while its high-dimensional feature space provides sufficient capacity to disentangle and fuse concurrent audio components effectively. With these designs, a simple flow-matching DiT achieves high-quality end-to-end audio scene generation. We also establish a comprehensive evaluation pipeline for audio scene generation. Experiments demonstrate that Dasheng AudioGen achieves performance approaching real-world recordings in mixed-audio categories, while remaining competitive with specialized models in single-type generation tasks. MiDashengLM-Gen: Unified Audio Scene Generation via LLM-Driven Autoregressive Flow Matching

Generating coherent audio scenes that simultaneously blend speech, music, and sound effects remains a significant challenge. Current approaches typically rely on a disjointed pipeline where a frozen, decoupled text encoder feeds a separate audio decoder, limiting cross-modal optimization and leading to poor speech intelligibility. To overcome these limitations, we introduce MiDashengLM-Gen, an end-to-end framework that couples a pre-trained Large Language Model (LLM) with per-token conditional flow matching for autoregressive, variable-length mixed-audio scene generation. MiDashengLM-Gen represents a first approach for general text-to-audio generation with one end-to-end trained model. Empirical evaluations demonstrate that MiDashengLM-Gen drastically improves speech intelligibility over existing unified models. On the Seed-TTS benchmark, English Word Error Rate (WER) drops from 12.15% to 2.79%, approaching the performance of dedicated Text-to-Speech (TTS) systems (1.24%). Furthermore, the framework extends effectively to multilingual settings, yielding highly competitive multilingual WERs compared to existing baselines. Lastly, the model maintains competitive mixed-audio generation quality on the MECAT benchmark. JenBridge: Adaptive Long-Form Video Soundtracking across Scene Transitions

We address the challenge of generating high-fidelity, long-form soundtracks that remain coherent across scene transitions. Existing AI music systems are mainly designed for short, isolated clips and lack mechanisms to ensure narrative continuity. We present JenBridge, a modular and interpretable framework for adaptive long-form video soundtracking that ensures both high-fidelity audio generation and transition naturalness. The core architecture is a Transformer-based generative model trained with a flow-matching objective, following a two-stage paradigm: pretraining on large-scale text-audio corpora to establish robust musical priors, then adapting to the video domain with dual text-visual conditioning for precise cross-modal alignment. Crucially, to achieve long-form coherence across diverse scene changes, JenBridge incorporates a novel adaptive transition mechanism. This system features a versatile toolkit of transition styles, including a generative transition method, and uniquely employs a Large Language Model (LLM) Agent that acts as a director to select the most appropriate transition for each narrative shift intelligently. To rigorously assess this task, we propose the LVS Benchmark, a new benchmark that includes a curated dataset and novel evaluation metrics focusing on holistic and transition-aware assessment. Extensive experiments on the proposed benchmark demonstrate that JenBridge significantly outperforms existing methods in both objective and subjective metrics, particularly in terms of transition naturalness and overall narrative coherence. JenBridge represents a significant step towards fully automated, professional-quality video soundtracking.
