Abstract

High-resolution image editing is increasingly demanded in professional workflows, yet existing diffusion-based models remain constrained to resolutions below 1K due to quadratic attention complexity and prohibitive memory requirements. A prevalent workaround employs a two-stage pipeline: editing at low resolution followed by independent super-resolution. However, this approach suffers from two critical issues: information divergence, where hallucinated details contradict the original high-resolution (HR) source, and texture degradation, manifesting as over-smoothed or over-sharpened artifacts. We propose EditBridge, a diffusion bridge framework for efficient ultra high-resolution editing. Unlike conventional diffusion that regenerates from noise, we formulate refinement as structured data-to-data translation from the low-resolution (LR) edited result to its HR counterpart, explicitly conditioned on the original HR source to preserve authentic details. To efficiently incorporate HR source guidance, we introduce a prior-guided block-wise sparse attention mechanism that exploits semantic correspondence from first-stage editing to constrain cross-image interactions to spatially aligned regions, significantly reducing computational overhead. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EditBridge achieves high-fidelity editing with superior perceptual quality at resolutions up to 4K, delivering 3.6--8.4×\times speedup at 2K and enabling practical 4K editing in 61 seconds.

HierEdit: Region-Aware Hierarchical Diffusion for Efficient High-Resolution Editing

High-resolution image editing is essential for professional and creative applications, yet existing multimodal diffusion-based editors remain computationally inefficient and constrained to relatively low resolutions. Current approaches redundantly process the entire image canvas or rely on large-scale high-resolution datasets, resulting in substantial training and inference costs. We introduce HierEdit, a region-aware hierarchical diffusion framework designed for efficient and scalable high-resolution image editing. Our method first performs edits on a low-resolution proxy using an off-the-shelf editing model to generate a reference and to localize the modified regions. A hierarchical local-window diffusion model (Local-Window MMDiT) that refines only edited regions within the original high-res image, while reusing the unaltered regions as conditioning inputs. The low-resolution proxy further provides structural guidance and intermediate denoising supervision (Inference Acceleration) , ensuring consistent global semantics and stable generation without the need for full-resolution attention computation. This targeted and hierarchical design enables fast, high-fidelity editing of images up to 4K resolution without any specialized high-resolution training data. Extensive experiments demonstrate that HierEdit achieves competitive visual quality on commodity-resolution datasets while significantly accelerating inference and extending seamlessly to ultra-high-resolution 4K editing. Tuning-Free Latent Diffusion Models for Ultrahigh-Resolution Image Editing

Recent diffusion-based generative models have shown impressive performance in image generation and editing. However, due to memory limitations and the high cost of collecting high-resolution training images, existing methods are typically restricted to inputs with linear resolutions below 1K. In contrast, photos captured by modern mobile devices often reach linear resolutions up to 8K, revealing a significant gap between current capabilities and real-world demands. Simply upscaling low-resolution edited results often results in visually enlarged but blurry images that lack fine details. This paper introduces UltraDiffEdit, a novel, tuning-free image editing framework that extends off-the-shelf latent diffusion models (LDMs) to ultrahigh resolutions. UltraDiffEdit employs a multi-scale progressive editing strategy, iteratively blending high-resolution edited content with unedited areas in a coarse-to-fine manner. We employ multi-patch encoding to preserve both edited and unedited visual details within the latent space. To mitigate editing artifacts, our global-local consistency denoising technique consistently integrates edited and unedited latent features, ensuring smooth transition at editing boundaries from the latent representation to the final image. We also introduce a patch-based hybrid sampling approach that captures local, intermediate, and global features, ensuring semantic coherence and enhancing fine detail during denoising. We conduct extensive experiments demonstrating UltraDiffEdit's superior editing quality and flexibility: it can handle image resolutions up to 8K using only a single NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 GPU. EditCrafter: Tuning-free High-Resolution Image Editing via Pretrained Diffusion Model

We propose EditCrafter, a high-resolution image editing method that operates without tuning, leveraging pretrained text-to-image (T2I) diffusion models to process images at resolutions significantly exceeding those used during training. Leveraging the generative priors of large-scale T2I diffusion models enables the development of a wide array of novel generation and editing applications. Although numerous image editing methods have been proposed based on diffusion models and exhibit high-quality editing results, they are difficult to apply to images with arbitrary aspect ratios or higher resolutions since they only work at the training resolutions (512x512 or 1024x1024). Naively applying patch-wise editing fails with unrealistic object structures and repetition. To address these challenges, we introduce EditCrafter, a simple yet effective editing pipeline. EditCrafter operates by first performing tiled inversion, which preserves the original identity of the input high-resolution image. We further propose a noise-damped manifold-constrained classifier-free guidance (NDCFG++) that is tailored for high resolution image editing from the inverted latent. Our experiments show that the our EditCrafter can achieve impressive editing results across various resolutions without fine-tuning and optimization.
