Abstract

We present Mover360, a controllable object manipulation framework for 360° images. Unlike perspective images, 360° images in equirectangular projection (ERP) exhibit horizontal wrap-around, latitude-dependent distortion, and global scene continuity, which makes object-level edits difficult for existing perspective editors to produce and for users to specify. To address this, Mover360 centers on object Translation (relocating a specified object within an existing panorama) while supporting reference-guided Insert and Remove as auxiliary tasks. Its interface unifies point-, bbox-, and mask-guided control by encoding each task into a fixed prompt and a compact, ERP-aligned instruction map. In the default point mode, a single click relocates an object, allowing the model to infer a plausible size, support, and illumination using panoramic context and an auxiliary depth condition. Structurally, Mover360 is a lightweight adaptation of a pretrained diffusion transformer. To generate paired supervision, we construct a UE5 data-generation pipeline with surface-aware object placement and randomized illumination, yielding large-scale paired data and a dual-domain benchmark of synthetic and real panoramas with ground truth for all three tasks. Across both test domains and two evaluation protocols, Mover360 outperforms strong baselines for perspective editing, insertion, and inpainting in reconstruction fidelity, semantic consistency, and distributional quality. MUGEN: Interactive Panoramic World Exploration via Camera Control

Interactive panoramic video generation aims to synthesize immersive 360\textdegree{} videos that remain visually coherent while following user-specified camera trajectories during exploration. However, progress is limited by a coupled data-and-model gap: existing panoramic video datasets are often short, weakly annotated, or lack camera trajectories, while existing camera-controlled video generation models are designed for perspective videos and do not directly support panoramic geometry. In this paper, we introduce MUGEN and Wan360 to address these limitations. MUGEN is a large-scale real-world panoramic video dataset tailored to interactive 360-degree world exploration, comprising over 1,300 hours of at least 4K panoramic videos with rich semantic and geometric annotations. Built on MUGEN, we further present Wan360, a camera-controllable interactive panoramic video generation model. Panoramic videos are commonly represented by EquiRectangular Projection (ERP), which unfolds a spherical 360-degree view into a rectangular frame with cyclic longitude seams and pole distortions. To this end, Wan360 introduces three parameter-free ERP-aware components: periodic longitude RoPE for seam-consistent positional encoding, ERP-aware padding for reducing boundary artifacts, and random roll yaw for consistent learning. For camera control, Wan360 uses a panoramic Plücker embedding that represents camera motion with ERP rays rather than perspective pinhole rays. Experiments show that MUGEN serves as a data foundation for panoramic world exploration, and that Wan360 enables high-quality, temporally coherent, camera-controllable 360-degree video generation.

Gimbal360: Canonicalizing Planar Diffusion for Spherical Panorama Completion

Diffusion models provide powerful priors for 2D image completion, but these priors are learned on bounded planar images and do not transfer directly to 360∘360^\circ panoramas. Perspective observations and spherical panoramas differ in both projective geometry and topology: viewpoint-dependent distortion complicates spatial correspondence, while Equirectangular Projection (ERP) panoramas exhibit intrinsic S1S^1 periodicity that standard Euclidean architectures do not preserve. We present Gimbal360, a unified framework that adapts planar diffusion priors to spherical panoramic completion by standardizing these geometric and topological structures. Our Canonical Viewing Space expresses projective distortion as a fixed function of latitude, providing a consistent interface between perspective inputs and spherical panoramas. To map unposed in-the-wild images into this space, Differentiable Projective Canonicalization projects a dense correspondence field onto a 3-DoF rigid projection manifold without requiring camera parameters at inference. We further introduce Topologically Equivariant Generation, which enforces latent shift equivariance to preserve continuity across the periodic ERP boundary. Together, these designs allow diffusion to operate in a representation whose geometry and topology are explicitly aligned with the spherical domain. We also introduce Horizon360, a curated large-scale dataset of gravity-aligned panoramic environments. Extensive experiments show that Gimbal360 achieves state-of-the-art visual fidelity and seam continuity in 360∘360^\circ scene completion.

SpheRoPE: Zero-Shot Optimization-Free 360 Panorama Generation with Spherical RoPE

We present a zero-shot, training-free and optimization-free framework for generating 360 panoramic images and videos by directly injecting spherical priors into pre-trained diffusion transformers. Existing methods either rely on costly fine-tuning on scarce panoramic data that limits generalization, or leverage multi-step optimization that incurs prohibitive inference latency. We observe that contemporary generative models natively exhibit some panoramic priors from large-scale training. However, these emergent capabilities are insufficient, as the models fundamentally fail to satisfy the rigorous topological constraints imposed by equirectangular projection (ERP). We introduce a zero-shot and optimization-free approach that resolves these constraints at inference time. Spherical RoPE replaces standard rotary position embeddings: low-frequency channels are re-parameterized as 3D Cartesian coordinates to natively encode the spherical manifold, while high-frequency channels are harmonically quantized to enforce exact periodicity. Coupled with complementary Semantic Distortion classifier-free guidance (CFG) that explicitly steers geometry, we avoid retraining and inherit the full creative breadth of state-of-the-art models. Our approach generalizes across diverse backbones and 360 generation modalities. We demonstrate this across text-to-panorama using Flux.1, Flux.2, and LTX-Video backbones, achieving competitive performance against baselines, all while remaining training-free.
