Abstract

We introduce Edit4D, an editable text-to-4D scene generation framework that constructs 4D scenes from separate background and dynamic character representations. Recent advances in generative models have enabled text-driven dynamic scene synthesis, but editable 4D scene generation remains challenging due to the need to preserve spatial geometry and temporal dynamics. Existing approaches typically generate holistic scene videos, where the background and dynamic characters are coupled, making object-level editing and flexible camera control difficult. Edit4D addresses these limitations through a stage-specific generation pipeline. Given a user instruction, Edit4D first decomposes it into stage-specific prompts for background, dynamic character, and scene-character composition. Using these prompts, we synthesize multi-view scene images with text-to-image and camera-conditioned generative priors and reconstruct a background 3D Gaussian splatting representation. We then generate a character image, animate it with an image-conditioned video prior, reconstruct a 4D mesh, and bind Gaussian primitives to obtain a character representation. Finally, both components are composed through text-guided segmentation and contact-aware optimization. A global scene refinement is then performed to improve harmonization and rendering consistency. By integrating stage-specific components, Edit4D enables controllable camera motion, flexible object-level editing, and the practical construction of editable 4D scenes. CP4D: Compositional Physics-aware 4D Scene Generation

4D generation (i.e., dynamic 3D generation) has recently emerged as a rapidly growing research frontier due to its powerful spatiotemporal modeling capabilities. However, despite notable advances, existing approaches typically fail to capture the underlying physical principles, producing results that are both physically inconsistent and visually implausible. To overcome this limitation, we present CP4D, a novel paradigm for photorealistic 4D scene synthesis with faithful adherence to complex physical dynamics. Drawing inspiration from the compositional nature of real-world scenes, where immutable static backgrounds coexist with dynamic, physically plausible foregrounds, CP4D reformulates 4D generation as the integration of a static 3D environment with physically grounded dynamic objects. On this basis, our framework follows a three-stage pipeline: 1) Firstly, we leverage pre-trained expert models to generate high-fidelity 3D representations of the environment and foreground objects respectively. 2) Subsequently, to produce physically plausible trajectories and realistic interactions for these objects, we propose a hybrid motion synthesis strategy that integrates priors from physical simulators with the common sense embedded in video diffusion models. 3) Finally, we develop an automated composition mechanism that seamlessly fuses the static environment and dynamic objects into coherent, physically consistent 4D scenes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CP4D can generate explorable and interactive 4D scenes with high visual fidelity, strong physical plausibility, and fine-grained controllability, significantly outperforming existing methods. MATE4D: Matrix-Guided Editable 4D Generation from a Single Image

Generative models have rapidly pushed content creation be-yond 2D imagery toward dynamic 3D and 4D scene synthesis. Yet pro-ducing realistic and temporally stable 4D content from a single image is still difficult because one view provides limited structural cues and weak motion evidence. We introduce MATE4D, a framework that converts one input image into editable dynamic 4D content. Our method constructs a spatio-temporal multi-view image matrix with text-guided background manipulation, delivering coherent supervision over viewpoint, appear-ance, and motion. These synthesized observations are used to optimize 3D Gaussian primitives, which are then animated through a lightweight deformation module to form a 4D representation. The resulting scenes preserve geometry more faithfully, maintain smoother temporal behavior, and keep background edits more consistent, reducing context ambiguity and motion artifacts. Experiments on Objaverse-XL and Diffusion4D show that MATE4D outperforms strong baselines in visual quality, effi-ciency, and controllability, supporting practical AR/VR content creation.

Geometry-Aware Single-Image 4D Synthesis via Dense Trajectory Generation

Generating interactive and dynamic 4D scenes from a single static image remains a core challenge. Most existing generate-then-reconstruct and reconstruct-then-generate methods decouple geometry from motion, causing spatiotemporal inconsistencies and poor generalization. To address these, we present MoGe4D (Motion and Geometry-Aware image-to-4D Synthesis), a geometry-conditioned framework for single-image 4D synthesis that models a scene as dense 4D point trajectories. Instead of treating geometry and dynamics as two disconnected stages, our method starts from an initial geometric prior inferred from the input image and predicts future time-varying trajectories in a diffusion process, improving spatiotemporal coherence while preserving structural stability. To support this task, we first introduce TrajScene-60K, a large-scale dataset of 60,000 video samples with dense 4D point trajectories, addressing the scarcity of high-quality training data for scene-level 4D generation. Built on this, our diffusion-based 4D Scene Trajectory Generator (4D-STraG) predicts geometry-consistent and motion-plausible trajectory fields conditioned on the input image, with a depth-guided motion normalization strategy to reduce scale ambiguity and a Motion Perception Module (MPM) to inject motion-aware priors. We further propose a 4D View Synthesis Module (4D-ViSM) to render the generated 4D representation into videos under arbitrary camera trajectories. Experiments show that MoGe4D produces high-quality 4D scenes with strong temporal coherence, favorable geometry-aware consistency, and compelling novel-view synthesis from a single image.
