Abstract

Multi-view or video diffusion models have recently emerged as state-of-the-art approaches for novel-view synthesis from sparse image collections. While they can produce high quality images, they tend to hallucinate unrealistic spatial layouts when synthesizing views outside the input views (scene extrapolation). We propose to address this challenge for outdoor scenes by using satellite images as an additional information source to condition the multi-view generative model. We introduce a new satellite-conditioned multi-view diffusion model that combines conditioning from a satellite image and street-level input images when generating novel-views. Our cross-attention based conditioning allows us to retain pretrained multi-view diffusion priors to generate seamless, realistic, novel views from a handful of source views, while also adhering to the scene layout as seen from satellite images. Our model does not use 3D scene reconstruction, and only relies on posed street and satellite views. Our experiments on outdoor datasets show that our model is better than both satellite-conditioned or street-view conditioned baselines on novel-view synthesis, especially on challenging cases where target views have very little overlap with source views. VGGT-Diff: Visual Geometry Meets Diffusion for Sparse-View Novel View Synthesis

We present VGGT-Diff, a geometry-routed multi-view diffusion model for sparse-view novel view synthesis. Existing novel view synthesis (NVS) methods face a fundamental trade-off: reconstruction-based approaches preserve observed geometry but struggle to synthesize unseen regions, while diffusion-based methods provide strong generative priors yet rely on implicit source-to-query correspondence. VGGT-Diff bridges these regimes by routing visual geometry latents from VGGT-Ω into a pretrained video diffusion model. Each visual token is associated with a 3D point and confidence, then transformed into query-aligned latent conditions through a confidence-aware Visual Geometry Router (VGR) that preserves front and back surface evidence. These conditions guide joint target-view denoising, while Point-Track Residual Consistency (PTRC) regularizes predicted-clean residuals along reliable 3D tracks, improving multi-view stability. We further introduce robust geometry conditioning, combining training-time regularization with inference-time guidance for improved robustness. Experiments show competitive or state-of-the-art performance across interpolation and extrapolation under different viewpoint difficulties. Cross-View Splatter: Feed-Forward View Synthesis with Georeferenced Images

We present Cross-View Splatter, a feed-forward method that predicts pixel-aligned Gaussian splats for outdoor scenes captured at ground level AND by satellite. Faithful reconstructions require good camera coverage, but ground imagery is time-consuming and hard to capture at scale for large outdoor scenes. Fortunately, satellite imagery can provide a global geometric prior that is easy to access via public APIs. Cross-View Splatter fuses orthorectified satellite views with GPS-tagged ground photos to predict Gaussian splats in a unified 3D coordinate frame. By aligning ground and bird's-eye feature representations, our model improves scene coverage and novel-view synthesis, compared to ground imagery alone. We train on curated georeferenced datasets and paired satellite-terrain data, mined from open mapping services. We evaluate our method on a new benchmark for novel-view synthesis with georeferenced imagery allowing comparison to prior state-of-the-art methods. Our code and data preparation will be available at https://nianticspatial.github.io/cross-view-splatter/.

BetterScene: 3D Scene Synthesis with Representation-Aligned Generative Model

We present BetterScene, an approach to enhance novel view synthesis (NVS) quality for diverse real-world scenes using extremely sparse, unconstrained photos. BetterScene leverages the production-ready Stable Video Diffusion (SVD) model pretrained on billions of frames as a strong backbone, aiming to mitigate artifacts and recover view-consistent details at inference time. Conventional methods have developed similar diffusion-based solutions to address these challenges of novel view synthesis. Despite significant improvements, these methods typically rely on off-the-shelf pretrained diffusion priors and fine-tune only the UNet module while keeping other components frozen, which still leads to inconsistent details and artifacts even when incorporating geometry-aware regularizations like depth or semantic conditions. To address this, we investigate the latent space of the diffusion model and introduce two components: (1) temporal equivariance regularization and (2) vision foundation model-aligned representation, both applied to the variational autoencoder (VAE) module within the SVD pipeline. BetterScene integrates a feed-forward 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) model to render features as inputs for the SVD enhancer and generate continuous, artifact-free, consistent novel views. We evaluate on the challenging DL3DV-10K dataset and demonstrate superior performance compared to state-of-the-art methods.
