Artificial Partner
Artificial partners, encompassing AI companions and collaborative agents, are being developed to understand and replicate human interaction in various contexts, from alleviating loneliness to facilitating collaborative tasks. Current research focuses on using deep learning architectures, such as neural networks and transformers, to enable these artificial partners to learn complex behaviors, including understanding nuanced tool affordances and adapting to human partners' actions and communication styles. This research is significant for its potential to improve human well-being through social interaction and enhance human-robot collaboration in diverse fields, though challenges remain in achieving truly natural and effective interactions.
