Autism Therapy

Autism therapy research is increasingly exploring the use of robots to improve social interaction and communication skills in autistic children, focusing on structured interventions targeting core deficits like joint attention. Current research emphasizes the development of personalized robot behavior models and algorithms that adapt to individual children's responses, often incorporating audio-visual data for improved behavior recognition and analysis. This work aims to enhance the autonomy of robotic systems in therapeutic settings, moving beyond manual control and towards more effective and efficient interventions, ultimately improving the lives of autistic individuals.
