Brain Deformation
Brain deformation analysis focuses on quantifying and understanding how the brain's shape and structure change due to various factors, such as aging, injury, or disease. Current research employs advanced machine learning techniques, including contrastive learning and deep neural networks like Swin UNETR, to analyze 3D brain images and extract meaningful biomarkers from deformation fields. These methods aim to improve the accuracy of brain age prediction, diagnose conditions like chronic subdural hematoma, and enhance the precision of brain tumor surgery by accounting for intraoperative brain shift. Ultimately, this research strives to improve diagnostic capabilities, personalize treatment strategies, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes.
