Coherent UV
Coherent UV mapping focuses on efficiently and accurately generating temporally consistent UV coordinates for complex, deforming surfaces, particularly clothing and human avatars in computer vision and graphics. Current research emphasizes learning-based approaches, often employing neural networks to predict UV maps directly from image sequences, incorporating 3D geometry information (like surface normals) to improve realism and temporal coherence. This work is significant for improving the speed and quality of virtual character animation and clothing manipulation, enabling more realistic and efficient rendering in applications such as video games and virtual fashion design.
