Dark Pattern
Dark patterns are deceptive user interface designs in online services that manipulate users into unintended actions, often resulting in privacy violations or financial losses. Current research focuses on automatically detecting these patterns using machine learning models, particularly those based on transformer architectures like BERT and variations, combined with computer vision techniques for analyzing visual cues in user interfaces. This work aims to improve user protection and accountability by identifying and classifying dark patterns, contributing to both the development of more ethical online services and the advancement of AI-driven detection systems. The ultimate goal is to create a more equitable and transparent online environment.
