Current research focuses on developing automated detection systems using computer vision, machine learning (including deep learning models like YOLOv8), and IoT sensors to identify diseased or infested trees early, improving management strategies. These technologies leverage image analysis (e.g., using color and texture features), sound data, and remote sensing to create accurate maps of infestation, enabling targeted interventions and enhancing overall crop yield and sustainability.
