EHR Question Answering

Electronic Health Record (EHR) Question Answering (QA) focuses on developing systems that can accurately answer questions posed in natural language about patient data within EHRs. Current research emphasizes improving the accuracy and efficiency of these systems, particularly by exploring multi-modal approaches that integrate information from various sources like text, images (e.g., X-rays), and structured tables, and by employing advanced neural architectures such as encoder-decoder models and neural semantic parsing. This field is crucial for enhancing clinical decision-making, improving patient care, and facilitating medical research by enabling efficient and accurate retrieval of complex medical information.
