Energy Hub
Energy hubs are integrated energy systems that optimize the conversion and distribution of multiple energy resources (electricity, heat, etc.) to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Current research heavily focuses on developing robust control strategies, particularly stochastic model predictive control (MPC) algorithms often incorporating data-driven demand forecasting using techniques like Gaussian processes, to manage the inherent uncertainties in energy supply and demand. Experimental validation of these control methods, moving beyond simulations to real-world energy hub networks, is a crucial area of ongoing investigation, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and practical implementation.
