Enhanced Pen
Enhanced pens, incorporating sensors like accelerometers and gyroscopes, are revolutionizing online handwriting recognition by providing rich spatio-temporal data beyond traditional image-based approaches. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy and robustness of handwriting recognition models, particularly using recurrent neural networks, convolutional networks, and transformers, often coupled with techniques like connectionist temporal classification. This work is significant for advancing both fundamental understanding of handwriting dynamics and practical applications such as improved digital note-taking, automated data entry, and potentially even writer identification and forgery detection.
