Feminist Intersectional
Feminist intersectional approaches to artificial intelligence (AI) aim to address systemic biases and inequalities embedded within AI systems and their development. Current research focuses on applying intersectional lenses to explainable AI (XAI), analyzing the causal effects of algorithmic decisions on marginalized groups, and developing ethical guidelines for data collection and model training, often leveraging techniques like gradient-based attention analysis within transformer models. This work is crucial for mitigating the discriminatory impacts of AI and promoting more equitable and just technological advancements, impacting both the ethical considerations within the scientific community and the fairness of AI applications in society.
