Flood Analytics Information System

Flood Analytics Information Systems (FAIS) aim to improve flood risk assessment and response by integrating diverse data sources and advanced analytics. Current research focuses on leveraging machine learning, particularly deep learning models for image segmentation and natural language processing of social media data, alongside the development of novel data fusion techniques such as translating Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery into more easily interpretable Electro-Optical (EO) formats. These systems enhance situational awareness during flood events, enabling faster and more informed decision-making for humanitarian aid and resource allocation, ultimately improving flood preparedness and disaster response. The development of publicly accessible platforms like FAIS facilitates collaborative research and provides valuable tools for stakeholders.
