Holodeck Application
Holodeck applications aim to create immersive, interactive 3D environments generated from textual descriptions or sparse visual input. Current research focuses on developing efficient algorithms, such as those leveraging diffusion models and large language models, to generate realistic and consistent 3D scenes populated with interactive objects and characters, often incorporating techniques like Gaussian splatting for 3D reconstruction. This work is significant for advancing embodied AI, enhancing virtual and augmented reality experiences, and creating novel simulation game platforms, but also necessitates concurrent research into user safety protocols for physical interactions within these synthetic environments.
