Image Outpainting
Image outpainting aims to generate realistic and semantically consistent image content beyond the existing boundaries of an input image, expanding its field of view. Current research heavily utilizes diffusion models, often enhanced with transformers or other attention mechanisms, to achieve high-quality results and address challenges like maintaining consistency and controllability. These advancements are driving progress in diverse applications, including medical image reconstruction (e.g., completing truncated CT scans), 3D scene inpainting, and creating immersive virtual reality environments from limited input views. The development of more efficient and versatile outpainting methods continues to be a significant focus.
