Intra Oral

Intraoral imaging and analysis focus on creating accurate 3D models of teeth and surrounding structures from intraoral scans and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) data. Current research emphasizes automated tooth segmentation and alignment using advanced deep learning architectures, such as transformers and graph convolutional networks, often incorporating geometry-guided loss functions to improve accuracy, particularly at complex boundaries. These advancements are crucial for improving dental diagnostics, treatment planning (e.g., orthodontics), and facilitating the development of more efficient and accurate computer-aided dentistry (CAD) systems. The integration of intraoral scans with CBCT data is also a key area of focus, aiming to leverage the strengths of each modality for more comprehensive and clinically useful 3D models.
