Oral Self Care
Oral self-care research focuses on improving adherence to recommended practices like brushing, aiming to reduce the prevalence of dental disease and its associated health risks. Current research employs reinforcement learning algorithms, such as those used in the Oralytics system, to personalize intervention strategies and optimize prompt delivery for better engagement. Furthermore, AI, including large language models and federated learning, is being integrated into mobile applications to enhance diagnostic capabilities through at-home self-assessment and improve access to information and care. These advancements hold significant promise for improving oral health outcomes through technological innovation and personalized interventions.
