IPv6 Address
IPv6 addresses, the next-generation internet addressing system, are the focus of ongoing research aimed at improving network scanning efficiency and addressing security and privacy concerns. Current research utilizes machine learning models, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), to predict active IPv6 addresses and improve the accuracy of network scans, while also developing methods to detect address correlation attacks that compromise user privacy. These advancements are crucial for enhancing network security, improving the efficiency of internet infrastructure management, and mitigating privacy risks associated with the unique characteristics of IPv6 addressing.
