Lay Summarisation
Lay summarization uses natural language processing to translate complex scientific texts into versions easily understood by non-experts. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy, readability, and controllability of these summaries, employing large language models (LLMs) like transformers and incorporating external knowledge graphs to enhance factual accuracy and context. This work aims to bridge the communication gap between researchers and the public, increasing accessibility to scientific findings and fostering broader understanding of research.
