Medical Domain Knowledge
Medical domain knowledge focuses on integrating medical expertise into artificial intelligence models, primarily to improve the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic and prognostic tools. Current research emphasizes incorporating medical knowledge graphs, ontologies, and structured prompts into large language models (LLMs) and other deep learning architectures like transformers, often using techniques like contrastive learning and instruction tuning. This work aims to bridge the gap between the impressive capabilities of general-purpose AI and the nuanced requirements of healthcare, ultimately leading to more effective and trustworthy clinical decision support systems.
