Current efforts employ deep learning models, including convolutional neural networks and object detection architectures like YOLO, often incorporating techniques like spatial transformation for improved image alignment and robust regression methods for precise value extraction. Successful AMR systems promise significant cost savings and improved accuracy in utility management, while also contributing to advancements in computer vision and image processing techniques applicable beyond meter reading.
