Plane Reconstruction

Plane reconstruction aims to create 3D models of planar surfaces from images or videos, focusing on accurately detecting, segmenting, and reconstructing these planes while simultaneously estimating camera poses. Recent research emphasizes unified, single-stage approaches using transformer-based architectures or multi-view stereo (MVS) pipelines, moving away from sequential, multi-stage methods. These advancements leverage both image-level and temporal information to improve accuracy and achieve real-time performance, leading to more robust and efficient 3D scene understanding. This work has significant implications for applications such as robotics, augmented reality, and 3D modeling.
