Power Outage
Power outages, increasingly frequent due to extreme weather, are a significant concern demanding improved prediction and response strategies. Current research focuses on developing sophisticated predictive models, often employing deep learning architectures like Multi-Layer Perceptrons and Graph Neural Networks, that integrate diverse data sources such as weather forecasts, socio-economic factors, power infrastructure maps, and even estimated numbers of dependent medical devices. These advancements aim to enhance the accuracy and granularity of outage predictions, enabling more effective resource allocation and disaster response, particularly for vulnerable communities. Ultimately, this work contributes to building more resilient energy infrastructure and mitigating the health and societal impacts of power disruptions.
