Rubric Based
Rubric-based assessment focuses on automating the evaluation of subjective tasks, like essay scoring or scientific model analysis, using pre-defined criteria. Current research emphasizes leveraging large language models (LLMs), often incorporating techniques like chain-of-thought prompting and comparative judgment, to improve accuracy and consistency while addressing challenges like limited training data and rubric interpretation. This work holds significant implications for education, streamlining assessment in massive online courses and providing more efficient feedback, as well as for other fields requiring objective evaluation of complex, nuanced outputs.
