Smart Microrobots
Smart microrobots, miniature robots with onboard control systems, are being developed for diverse applications, primarily focusing on minimally invasive medical procedures and micro-scale manipulation. Current research emphasizes improving actuation mechanisms (e.g., shape-memory alloys, electrokinetics, magnetic fields, ultrasound), developing robust control algorithms (including reinforcement learning and model predictive control), and enhancing tracking capabilities in complex environments using deep learning-based image processing. These advancements hold significant promise for advancing medical technologies, enabling targeted drug delivery, microsurgery, and other biomedical applications.
