Soil Erosion
Soil erosion, the detachment and transport of soil particles by water or wind, is a significant environmental problem impacting ecosystems and agricultural productivity globally. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy of erosion prediction models, employing advanced techniques like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and refined versions of established models such as RUSLE and GMDH, often incorporating high-resolution remote sensing data and climate change scenarios. These advancements aim to better assess erosion risk, inform mitigation strategies (e.g., vegetation management), and support sustainable land management practices, ultimately contributing to improved resource conservation and environmental protection.
