Virtual Image
Virtual images, apparent representations of objects formed by light redirection (reflection or refraction), are a focus of current research aiming to improve computer vision tasks. Researchers are developing novel algorithms and model architectures, such as those incorporating motion and geometric information or leveraging synthetic data for training, to enhance the accurate segmentation and recognition of virtual images amidst real-world scenes. This work is crucial for applications ranging from autonomous navigation in challenging environments (e.g., marine robotics) to improving human-object interaction detection and light-field image processing, ultimately advancing the capabilities of computer vision systems.
