Overview

Video editing benchmarks test whether systems can make requested changes to footage while preserving everything that should remain intact. They cover settings such as compositional edits, reference-guided changes, multi-shot timelines, audio-video edits, and workflows using real footage. Evaluation combines automated visual-language model judges and rubric-based scores with measures of instruction following, edit locality, temporal consistency, and human preferences. A central challenge is that plausible-looking results may still miss instructions, alter non-target content, or fall short of professional creative quality.
