Abstract

Object pose estimation is a fundamental task in 3D vision with applications in robotics, AR/VR, and scene understanding. We address the challenge of category-level 9-DoF pose estimation (6D pose + 3Dsize) from RGB-D input, without relying on CAD models during inference. Existing depth-only methods achieve strong results but ignore semantic cues from RGB, while many RGB-D fusion models underperform due to suboptimal cross-modal fusion that fails to align semantic RGB cues with 3D geometric representations. We propose DeMo-Pose, a hybrid architecture that fuses monocular semantic features with depth-based graph convolutional representations via a novel multimodal fusion strategy. To further improve geometric reasoning, we introduce a novel Mesh-Point Loss (MPL) that leverages mesh structure during training without adding inference overhead. Our approach achieves real-time inference and significantly improves over state-of-the-art methods across object categories, outperforming the strong GPV-Pose baseline by 3.2% on 3D IoU and 11.1% on pose accuracy on the REAL275 benchmark. The results highlight the effectiveness of depth-RGB fusion and geometry-aware learning, enabling robust category-level 3D pose estimation for real-world applications.

RYOPO: Bringing End-to-End Category-Level Object Pose Estimation into Real Time

Category-level object pose estimation predicts the rotation, translation, and metric size of unseen instances within known categories. Many accurate RGB-D methods rely on external instance segmentation and crop-based pose estimation, introducing separate stages and object-dependent processing costs that hinder real-time inference. To bring accurate pose estimation into real time, we present \ours{}, an end-to-end trainable query-based RGB-D set predictor. It jointly detects and segments objects and estimates their \mbox{9-DoF} poses without explicit CAD-derived shape priors or a separately trained instance segmentor. Shared image and scene encoding avoids repeated per-object crop encoding. A query-conditioned geometry pathway associates observed 3D points and RGB features with object queries and incorporates shared scene context. Object-centric refinement uses the resulting point descriptors to update an explicit pose state through pose-conditioned cross-attention and recurrent residual corrections. On NOCS, \ours{} substantially improves on published RGB-D joint detection and pose estimation results. It achieves competitive performance compared with two-stage methods under all-object evaluation on REAL275 and HouseCat6D, while enabling real-time full-frame pose estimation at 31.831.8 FPS on an RTX~A6000. UniPose9D: Universal Category-Agnostic Object Pose Estimation

Object pose estimation is a fundamental problem in 3D vision. Although recent state-of-the-art approaches achieve strong performance, generalization to novel categories and unseen scenes remains challenging. We propose UniPose9D, a unified model for category-agnostic 9D object pose estimation: given an instance mask/ROI and either an RGB-D observation or an RGB image with predicted depth, the model estimates rotation, translation, and metric size without category labels, CAD models, mean-shape priors, or reference views. Specifically, UniPose9D samples point pairs from the observed object geometry and uses DINOv2 and PointNet features to predict NOCS coordinates for each pair. To improve accuracy, we introduce a point-pair-based RANSAC N-hop Kabsch-Umeyama algorithm with an adaptive threshold. We further employ flow matching to address symmetric ambiguities and construct a large-scale training set by curating and aligning pose annotations from existing public datasets. Experiments across eight datasets show that a single unified model achieves competitive performance on standard benchmarks while generalizing to unseen objects, unseen categories, and in-the-wild scenarios. F2G-Pose: Geometry-Aware Foundation Feature Lifting for Direct RGB-D Category-Level Object Pose Estimation

This paper studies category-level RGB-D object pose estimation, which recovers an object's 3D rotation and translation without instance-specific CAD models or reference views. This task is highly ambiguous due to intra-class variations, symmetries, and partial observations. Current solutions struggle to balance reliability and efficiency: methods based on intermediate structures are prone to error propagation, while diffusion models suffer from high inference latency and complex post-hoc candidate extraction. To address this, we present F2G-Pose, a real-time direct, single-pass framework that predicts category-level pose, metric size, and camera-frame completed shape from a single RGB-D observation in one feed-forward pass. F2G-Pose lifts dense visual foundation features to partial point clouds, encodes local geometry with DGCNN tokenization, and integrates object-level structure with a Mixture-of-Experts Transformer. Joint size prediction and camera-frame shape completion encourage metric consistency through dense geometric supervision. With its task-specific network trained only on pose-annotated synthetic SOPE data and its frozen RADIO backbone externally pretrained, F2G-Pose achieves state-of-the-art accuracy on SOPE and ROPE while running at 28 FPS for pose-only inference, and further demonstrates strong camera-frame geometry on HouseCat6D and real-object transfer on HANDAL. Analyses of latency, robustness, shape completion, and GenPose++ candidate behavior further demonstrate the efficiency and reliability of F2G-Pose, with real-world manipulation experiments demonstrating deployment potential under segmented RGB-D inputs.
