Abstract

We introduce a parameter-efficient adaptation method for panel-aware in-context image generation with pre-trained diffusion transformers. The key idea is to compose learnable, panel-specific orthogonal operators onto the backbone's frozen positional encodings. This design provides two desirable properties: (1) isometry, which preserves the geometry of internal features, and (2) same-panel invariance, which maintains the model's pre-trained intra-panel synthesis behavior. Through controlled experiments, we demonstrate that the effectiveness of our adaptation method is not tied to a specific positional encoding design but generalizes across diverse positional encoding regimes. By enabling effective panel-relative conditioning, the proposed method consistently improves in-context image-based instructional editing pipelines, including state-of-the-art approaches.

Enhancing In-context Panoramic Generation via Geometric-aware Pretraining

In this work, we present Canvas360, a two-stage framework for in-context panoramic generation that combines geometry-aware pretraining with downstream task-specific fine-tuning. To address the lack of large-scale, high-quality training data tailored to in-context panoramic tasks, we propose Canvas360Dataset, a collection of 1M high-quality paired panoramic samples for style transfer, inpainting, outpainting, and editing, enabling effective supervision across diverse in-context generation scenarios. On the modeling side, Canvas360 enhances text-to-panorama generation through parallel depth generation, velocity circular padding, and similarity loss regularization, enabling the model to learn geometry-aware representations, capture object distortion details, and improve geometric consistency and global coherence. Furthermore, empowered by strong panoramic priors, Canvas360 enables a unified in-context panoramic generation framework that supports diverse downstream tasks via token-level concatenation, surpassing prior methods in both task coverage and modeling flexibility. Extensive experiments show that Canvas360 improves panoramic image fidelity, achieving particularly strong performance on the panorama-specific FAED metric and competitive or leading results across the reported quantitative evaluations. UNITY: Attention Flow Networks for Adaptive Conditioning in Diffusion

We introduce UNITY, a Universal-to-Specialized adapter for efficient and scalable composite conditioning in diffusion based image generation. Unlike prior methods that train separate adapters for each conditioning modality, UNITY jointly learns shared semantics across multiple conditioning types and subsequently specializes without modifying the underlying architecture. The proposed two stage training paradigm consists of a Universal Stage that captures cross modal representations across all conditioning modalities using half of the total training steps, followed by a Specialization Stage that refines modality specific features using the remaining training budget. At the core of UNITY are the Morphable Attention Flow (MAF) Network and Morph Wrapper modules, which enable channel aware and spatially adaptive feature alignment through learnable flow fields and attention based fusion. This constant complexity formulation supports flexible operation under both single and composite conditioning settings while significantly reducing inference latency and memory consumption. Extensive experiments across multiple datasets demonstrate that UNITY achieves state of the art image fidelity while maintaining superior memory efficiency. Code: https://github.com/arya-domain/UNITY

Beyond Attention Masks: Instruction Anchoring for Efficient In-Context Diffusion Generation

In-context diffusion transformers concatenate instruction, target, and reference tokens into a single sequence for joint attention. Reference-side computation must therefore be repeated at every denoising step, with the cost growing rapidly as more references are added. Decoupling reference tokens from the target enables exact key-value reuse across denoising steps, but prevents the references from attending to the instruction, degrading instruction following and reference fidelity. This trade-off cannot be resolved through attention-mask design alone. We introduce AnchorCache, a parameter-free token-layout and attention-mask co-design that inserts static text anchors. These anchors condition the reference representations on the instruction during cache construction, after which the resulting reference keys and values can be reused exactly across denoising steps. To recover the quality initially lost through this structural conversion, we apply teacher-forced velocity distillation followed by a short on-policy stage that queries the teacher at student-visited states. To our knowledge, this is the first use of on-policy distillation for architectural recovery in diffusion models. Across benchmarks spanning image, speech, and video generation, AnchorCache matches full-attention quality. Its efficiency gains increase with the reference-context size, reaching a 6.40x speedup in diffusion transformer inference.
