Abstract

Recent trends in sparse-view 3D reconstruction have taken two different paths: feed-forward reconstruction that predicts pixel-aligned point maps without a complete geometry, and generative 3D reconstruction that generates complete geometry but often with poor input-alignment. We present Mix3R, a novel generative 3D reconstruction method which mixes feed-forward reconstruction and 3D generation into a single framework in an aligned manner. Mix3R generates a 3D shape in two stages: a sparse voxel generation stage and a textured geometry generation stage. Unlike pure generative methods, our first-stage generation jointly produces a coarse 3D structure (sparse voxels), per-view point maps and camera parameters aligned to that 3D structure. This is made possible by introducing a Mixture-of-Transformers architecture that inserts global self-attentions to a feed-forward reconstruction model and a 3D generative model, both pretrained on large-scale data. This design effectively retains the pretrained priors but enables better 2D-3D alignment. Based on the initial aligned generations of sparse 3D voxels and point maps, we compute an overlap-based attention bias that is directly added to another pretrained textured geometry generation model, enabling it to correctly place input textures onto generated shapes in a training-free manner. Our design brings mutual benefits to both feed-forward reconstruction and 3D generation: The feed-forward branch learns to ground its predictions to a generative 3D prior, and conversely, the 3D generation branch is conditioned on geometrically informative features from the feed-forward branch. As a result, our method produces 3D shapes with better input alignment compared with pure 3D generative methods, together with camera pose estimations more accurate than previous feed-forward reconstruction methods. GenRecon: Bridging Generative Priors for Multi-View 3D Scene Reconstruction

We introduce a new approach to high-fidelity 3D scene reconstruction from multi-view RGB images that tightly couples reconstruction with a strong generative 3D prior. We cast scene reconstruction as conditional 3D generation over a set of spatially-localized, overlapping chunks that together tile the scene, scaling generation to large scene extents. Crucially, we inherit the fidelity and completeness of state-of-the-art generative shape models -- we use Trellis.2 as an example -- which we generalize to the scene level. To this end, we propose a projection-based conditioning mechanism that lifts posed multi-view image features into a coherent 3D representation aligned with the generative model, independent of view ordering and spatially anchored to the scene, yielding high-fidelity, multi-view consistent generated geometry. This enables lifting the strong object-level prior of Trellis.2 to multi-view, scene-scale generation, producing faithful, editable PBR mesh reconstructions of indoor environments. As a result, we obtain high-fidelity results that outperform cutting-edge reconstruction methods by 16%.

Robust 3D Alignment of Generative Reconstructions via Partial Monocular Observations

Aligning generative 3D reconstructions with partial monocular observations is a critical but under-explored challenge in computer vision. This task is inherently ill-posed due to severe asymmetries between noisy, sparse monocular inputs and dense generative priors, whose scale ambiguity and geometric hallucinations, combined with the lack of initial overlap, render traditional registration pipelines ineffective. To resolve these issues, we propose a training-free and interpretable geometric alignment framework that grounds generative 3D priors via a 3D similarity transformation (Sim(3)), which can recover accurate metric scale and pose. Specifically, we introduce an explicit scale factor to resolve metric ambiguity and employ a coarse-to-fine alignment strategy, leveraging geometry-aware descriptors for robust initialization and a decoupled closed-form solver for precision refinement. In addition, we introduce a Hallucination Filtering operation to effectively suppress outliers caused by hallucinated geometry. To evaluate alignment performance under these extreme conditions, we introduce GenPMOAlign--Where2Place, a rigorous benchmark specifically designed for Generative-to-Partial Monocular Observational Alignment. Experiments demonstrate that our method achieves stable and accurate registration, substantially outperforming both classical geometric pipelines and state-of-the-art learning-based baselines. Code and the benchmark will be publicly released.

UniQueR: Unified Query-based Feedforward 3D Reconstruction

We present UniQueR, a unified query-based feedforward framework for efficient and accurate 3D reconstruction from unposed images. Existing feedforward models such as DUSt3R, VGGT, and AnySplat typically predict per-pixel point maps or pixel-aligned Gaussians, which remain fundamentally 2.5D and limited to visible surfaces. In contrast, UniQueR formulates reconstruction as a sparse 3D query inference problem. Our model learns a compact set of 3D anchor points that act as explicit geometric queries, enabling the network to infer scene structure, including geometry in occluded regions--in a single forward pass. Each query encodes spatial and appearance priors directly in global 3D space (instead of per-frame camera space) and spawns a set of 3D Gaussians for differentiable rendering. By leveraging unified query interactions across multi-view features and a decoupled cross-attention design, UniQueR achieves strong geometric expressiveness while substantially reducing memory and computational cost. Experiments on Mip-NeRF 360 and VR-NeRF demonstrate that UniQueR surpasses state-of-the-art feedforward methods in both rendering quality and geometric accuracy, using an order of magnitude fewer primitives than dense alternatives.
