Abstract
Talking-head generation requires joint modeling of identity, head pose, facial expression, and mouth dynamics. Existing methods typically address only a subset of these factors, and rely on fixed-weight or heuristic fusion when multiple conditions are involved. We present MoCoTalk, a multi-conditional video diffusion framework that unifies four complementary control signals: a reference image, facial keypoints, 3DMM-rendered shading meshes, and the corresponding speech audio. To resolve destructive interference among heterogeneous conditions, we introduce an Adaptive Multi-Condition Router that computes channel-wise, timestep-aware gating over the four condition streams, allowing the fusion strategy to vary with both feature subspace and noise level. To better capture speech-related facial dynamics, we design a Mouth-Augmented Shading Mesh, a 3DMM-based representation that decouples head motion, mouth motion, expression, and lighting. This design provides a temporally consistent geometric prior and allows flexible recombination of these attributes at inference. We further introduce a lip consistency loss to tighten audio-visual alignment. Extensive experiments show that MoCoTalk achieves state-of-the-art performance on the majority of structural, motion, and perceptual metrics, while offering attribute-level controllability that single-condition methods do not provide.
High-quality, real-time talking head synthesis remains a fundamental challenge in computer vision. Existing reconstruction- and rendering-based methods typically rely on identity-specific models, limiting cross-identity generalization. To address this issue, we propose SDTalk, a one-shot 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)-based framework that generalizes to unseen identities without personalized training or fine-tuning. Our framework comprises two modules with a two-stage training strategy. In the first stage, we incorporate structured facial priors into the reconstruction module and separately predict 3DGS parameters for visible and occluded regions, enabling complete head reconstruction from a single image. In the second stage, we introduce a dual-branch motion field to model coarse and fine facial dynamics, improving detail fidelity and lip synchronization. Experiments demonstrate that SDTalk surpasses existing methods in both visual quality and inference efficiency.
Long-form and real-time talking-head generation remains challenging due to a latency-quality trade-off: inefficient multi-step diffusion prohibits streaming generation, whereas real-time autoregressive approaches suffer from error accumulation and identity drift. To address this drawback, we propose LeapTalk, a novel framework that achieves stable and real-time talking-head generation with a single forward step, scaling to arbitrarily long videos. At the heart of our approach lies a single-step bridge distillation scheme. On the one hand, departing from the conventional noise-to-data paradigm, we introduce a data-to-data transport formulation based on a Brownian bridge. Anchored by a persistent reference, this strategy effectively mitigates identity drift and enhances long-term temporal stability. On the other hand, to enable smooth knowledge transfer from a pre-trained diffusion teacher to the student bridge model, we explore a heterogeneous distillation framework with an SNR-aligned time transformation Φ(τ), which bridges the functional discrepancy between the two models. Moreover, we propose an audio-driven classifier-free guidance mechanism to maintain fine-grained lip synchronization under extreme step reduction. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves high-fidelity and temporally consistent video generation with only 1 step at up to 200 FPS, significantly outperforming existing approaches in both efficiency and stability. With the rapid advancement of diffusion models, talking face generation has made remarkable progress. However, existing diffusion-based methods still require task-specific fine-tuning and large-scale audiovisual datasets, resulting in high computational costs that hinder scalability and accessibility of diffusion-based approaches across the research community. To address this, we propose a finetuning-free paradigm that directly performs talking face generation using the pretrained weights of Stable Diffusion and IP-Adapter. This backbone leverages the visual embedding capability of IP-Adapter to mine lip-related semantics from the pretrained Stable Diffusion. To address the challenges of identity drift, synchronization errors, and temporal instability, we also design three trainable-parameterfree components: (1) the Structurist, which explicitly disentangles and reassembles lip and appearance features to mitigate identity drift and appearance distortion; (2) the Structure Controller, which adaptively refines embeddings based on quasi-monotonic motion trends for precise lip synchronization; and (3) the Noise Sensor, which introduces Gaussian prior to detect and suppress flicker and jitter artifacts and enhance temporal consistency. Experimental results show that our method outperforms existing SOTA approaches in both lip-sync accuracy (at least 0.16 gain in PCLD) and visual fidelity (at least 0.7 improvement in FID), establishing a novel fine-tuning-free diffusion framework for talking face generation.
