Abstract

Text-to-Image (T2I) models have recently seen notable progress around 1K and 2K resolution. With the extreme desire for better visual experience and the rapid development of imaging technology, the demand for Ultra-High-Resolution (UHR) image generation has grown significantly. However, UHR image generation poses great challenges due to the scarcity and complexity of high-resolution content. In this paper, we first introduce PixVerve-95K, a high-quality, open-source UHR T2I dataset curated with a carefully designed data pipeline, which contains 95K images across diverse scenarios (each image has a minimum pixel-count of 100M) and seven-dimensional annotations. Based on our large-scale image-text dataset, we take a pioneering step to extend various T2I foundation models to native 100MP generation with three training schemes. Finally, leveraging both conventional metrics and multimodal large language model-based assessments, our proposed PixVerve-Bench benchmark establishes a comprehensive evaluation protocol for UHR images encompassing visual quality and semantic alignment. Extensive experimental results on our benchmark and the constructive exploration of training strategies collaboratively provide valuable insights for future breakthroughs.

UltraImageGen: Efficient Ultra-High-Resolution Image Generation with Hierarchical Local Attention

Ultra-high-resolution text-to-image generation is increasingly vital for applications requiring fine-grained textures and global structural fidelity, yet state-of-the-art text-to-image diffusion models such as FLUX and SD3 remain confined to sub 2MP (< 1K×2K1K\times2K) resolutions due to the quadratic complexity of attention mechanisms and the scarcity of high-quality high-resolution training data. We present UltraImageGen, a novel framework that introduces hierarchical local attention with low-resolution global guidance, enabling efficient, scalable, and semantically coherent image synthesis at ultra-high resolutions. Specifically, high-resolution latents are divided into hardware aligned fixed-size local windows to reduce attention complexity from quadratic to near-linear, while a low-resolution latent equipped with scaled positional embeddings injects global semantics as an anchor. A lightweight LoRA adaptation bridges global and local pathways during denoising, ensuring consistency across structure and detail. To maximize inference efficiency and achieve scalable ultra-high-resolution generation, we repermute token sequence in window-first order, so that the GPU-friendly dense local blocks in attention calculation equals to the fixed-size local window in 2D regardless of resolution. Together ourwork reliably scales the pretrained model to resolutions higher than 8K8K with more than 10×10\times speed up and significantly lower memory usage. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ourwork achieves superior quality while maintaining computational efficiency, establishing a practical paradigm for advancing ultra-high-resolution image generation.

VINS-120K: Ultra High-Resolution Image Editing with A Large-Scale Dataset

Directly editing ultra-high-resolution (UHR) images is valuable but underexplored, primarily due to the lack of high-quality data and the challenge in modeling high-frequency texture details. We introduce VINS-120K, the first large-scale dataset for instruction-based UHR image editing, comprising 120K carefully curated triplets of instruction, input image, and edited image. Each image exceeds 4K resolution (\geq4096 ×\times 4096) and is filtered through a rigorous multi-stage pipeline to ensure visual quality, instruction alignment, and aesthetic fidelity. Built on VINS-120K, we further develop a high-frequency-aware post-adaptation strategy to extend pretrained non-high-resolution models to the UHR regime. We also present VINS-4KEval, a benchmark covering diverse editing types, to facilitate consistent evaluation in UHR settings. Experiments confirm that our work improves fine-grained detail synthesis and texture realism in UHR image editing.

HRDiT: Training-Free High-Resolution Image Generation with Off-the-Shelf Diffusion Transformer Models

Training-free text-to-high-resolution image generation has recently attracted growing research attention. However, existing studies on this task primarily focus on adapting off-the-shelf U-Net-based diffusion models to high resolutions, with limited progress on adapting off-the-shelf Diffusion Transformer (DiT) models despite their strong text-to-image generation capabilities at limited resolutions. In this work, we find two key challenges particularly hindering the application of off-the-shelf DiT models for high-resolution image synthesis in a training-free manner, namely, spatial disorder and long generation time. To address these challenges, we propose a novel method tailored to adapt off-the-shelf DiT models for high-resolution image synthesis. Extensive experiments show the efficacy of our method.
