Abstract

Visual anagram is an intriguing form of art creation wherein a single image presents different conceptual interpretations under transformations such as flipping or rotation. Recent work has achieved visual anagram synthesis by leveraging pretrained text-to-image (T2I) diffusion models, yet still suffers from several key limitations including computational inefficiency, suboptimal aesthetic quality, and weak semantic fidelity and expressiveness. This work focuses on generating visual anagrams with substantially improved visual quality at minimal computational cost, thereby advancing intelligent creation of illusionary digital art. To increase image resolution while reducing time overhead, we adapt the cutting-edge parallel denoising algorithm from pixel-based T2I model to the adversarially distilled latent-based one, and accordingly propose a structure-semantic co-optimization (S2CO) framework to counteract the consequent visual degradation. As the core of our approach, S2CO framework comprises three key innovations: (\romannumeral1) null-text structure alignment optimization; (\romannumeral2) semantic enhancement optimization; (\romannumeral3) attention-guided noise fusion. Building upon these components, our method dubbed \textbf{S2CO-Anagram} is able to generate higher-resolution anagram images with noticeably superior visual harmony and semantic faithfulness than related SOTA approaches, all while achieving substantially faster inference speed. Code will be publicly available.

Unlocking Complex Visual Generation via Closed-Loop Verified Reasoning

Despite rapid advancements, current text-to-image (T2I) models predominantly rely on a single-step generation paradigm, which struggles with complex semantics and faces diminishing returns from parameter scaling. While recent multi-step reasoning approaches show promise, they are hindered by ungrounded planning hallucinations lacking verification, monolithic post-hoc reflection, long-context optimization instabilities, and prohibitive inference latency. To overcome these bottlenecks, we propose the Closed-Loop Visual Reasoning (CLVR) framework, a comprehensive system that deeply couples visual-language logical planning with pixel-level diffusion generation. CLVR introduces an automated data engine with step-level visual verification to synthesize reliable reasoning trajectories, and proposes Proxy Prompt Reinforcement Learning (PPRL) to resolve long-context optimization instabilities by distilling interleaved multimodal histories into explicit reward signals for accurate causal attribution. Furthermore, to mitigate the severe latency bottleneck caused by iterative denoising, we propose ΔΔ-Space Weight Merge (DSWM), a theoretically grounded method that fuses alignment weights with off-the-shelf distillation priors, reducing the per-step inference cost to just 4 NFEs without requiring expensive re-distillation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CLVR outperforms existing open-source baselines across multiple benchmarks and approaches the performance of proprietary commercial models, unlocking general test-time scaling capabilities for complex visual generation.

Generative Refinement Networks for Visual Synthesis

While diffusion models dominate the field of visual generation, they are computationally inefficient, applying a uniform computational effort regardless of different complexity. In contrast, autoregressive (AR) models are inherently complexity-aware, as evidenced by their variable likelihoods, but are often hindered by lossy discrete tokenization and error accumulation. In this work, we introduce Generative Refinement Networks (GRN), a next-generation visual synthesis paradigm that addresses these issues. At its core, GRN addresses the discrete tokenization bottleneck through a theoretically near-lossless Hierarchical Binary Quantization (HBQ), achieving a reconstruction quality comparable to continuous counterparts. Built upon HBQ's latent space, GRN fundamentally upgrades AR generation with a global refinement mechanism that progressively perfects and corrects artworks -- like a human artist painting. Besides, GRN integrates an entropy-guided sampling strategy, enabling complexity-aware, adaptive-step generation without compromising visual quality. On the ImageNet benchmark, GRN establishes new records in image reconstruction (0.56 rFID) and class-conditional image generation (1.81 gFID). We also scale GRN to more challenging text-to-image and text-to-video generation, delivering superior performance on an equivalent scale. We release all models and code to foster further research on GRN.

Wan-Image: Pushing the Boundaries of Generative Visual Intelligence

We present Wan-Image, a unified visual generation system explicitly engineered to paradigm-shift image generation models from casual synthesizers into professional-grade productivity tools. While contemporary diffusion models excel at aesthetic generation, they frequently encounter critical bottlenecks in rigorous design workflows that demand absolute controllability, complex typography rendering, and strict identity preservation. To address these challenges, Wan-Image features a natively unified multi-modal architecture by synergizing the cognitive capabilities of large language models with the high-fidelity pixel synthesis of diffusion transformers, which seamlessly translates highly nuanced user intents into precise visual outputs. It is fundamentally powered by large-scale multi-modal data scaling, a systematic fine-grained annotation engine, and curated reinforcement learning data to surpass basic instruction following and unlock expert-level professional capabilities. These include ultra-long complex text rendering, hyper-diverse portrait generation, palette-guided generation, multi-subject identity preservation, coherent sequential visual generation, precise multi-modal interactive editing, native alpha-channel generation, and high-efficiency 4K synthesis. Across diverse human evaluations, Wan-Image exceeds Seedream 5.0 Lite and GPT Image 1.5 in overall performance, reaching parity with Nano Banana Pro in challenging tasks. Ultimately, Wan-Image revolutionizes visual content creation across e-commerce, entertainment, education, and personal productivity, redefining the boundaries of professional visual synthesis.
