Abstract

Realistic integration of user-specified textures into scene images is a fundamental task in computer graphics and image editing. While existing material transfer and reference-guided inpainting methods can edit surface appearances, they often fail to address the specific requirements of texture tiling. This task necessitates precisely repeating a reference pattern according to user-defined parameters such as frequency, orientation, and scale. Furthermore, current generative approaches often struggle to maintain the structural fidelity of the reference texture, limited by either destructive pixel-level resampling or the lack of fine-grained spatial information in semantic image encoders, and they frequently fail to preserve the coherent lighting and geometry of the original scene. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for controllable and high-fidelity texture tiling based on Diffusion Transformers. Our approach introduces two key technical innovations to decouple spatial manipulation from content generation. First, we propose a Coordinate-Transformed Rotary Embedding mechanism. By applying 2D affine transformations directly to the relative positional embeddings between the target latent and the image condition, we achieve precise control over tiling patterns without explicit pixel warping, thereby utilizing the full information of the reference condition without degradation. Second, a Disjoint Attention Mask is employed to shield reference features from semantic leakage. This preserves structural integrity while seamlessly blending the synthesized texture with the scene's original lighting and geometry. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art baselines in both control accuracy and texture fidelity.

SEGA: Spectral-Energy Guided Attention for Resolution Extrapolation in Diffusion Transformers

Diffusion transformers (DiTs) have emerged as a dominant architecture for text-to-image generation, yet their performance drops when generating at resolutions beyond their training range. Existing training-free approaches mitigate this by modifying inference-time attention behavior, often through Rotary Position Embeddings (RoPE) extrapolation combined with attention scaling. However, these strategies apply a uniform and content-agnostic scaling across RoPE components with distinct frequency characteristics, inducing a trade-off between preserving global structure and recovering fine detail. We introduce SEGA, a training-free method that dynamically scales attention across RoPE components according to the latent's spatial-frequency structure at each denoising step. This adaptive scaling improves both structural coherence and fine-detail fidelity. Experiments show that SEGA consistently improves high-resolution synthesis across multiple target resolutions, outperforming state-of-the-art training-free baselines.

ControlRef: Efficient Layout-Guided Multi-Instance Generation via Anchored 4D-RoPE

Layout-guided multi-instance generation is essential for controllable image synthesis in Multi-Modal Diffusion Transformers (MM-DiTs). However, integrating this capability into unified architectures remains challenging. Prior frameworks rely on redundant full-resolution canvas padding and Shifted-RoPE to manage multiple reference images. This mechanism drastically inflates computational overhead for sparse layouts and disrupts critical low-frequency RoPE features, creating a severe spatial-frequency compromise that blurs absolute spatial correspondence. To overcome these limitations, we propose ControlRef, a highly efficient and precise multi-instance synthesis framework. ControlRef utilizes a Unified Instance-Layout Control (UILC) attention mask to strictly decouple inter-instance semantic interactions and enforce precise regional binding. To further promote region-level spatial alignment, we introduce Anchored 4D-RoPE, a novel positional encoding mechanism that directly anchors tokens to their absolute geometric centers. By pre-aligning reference images to their corresponding bounding box resolutions, physically anchoring both layout and reference tokens to their absolute geometric centers, and stacking the references along the z-axis, Anchored 4D-RoPE natively preserves spatial priors and mitigates the spatial-frequency compromise without lossy shifting. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ControlRef achieves state-of-the-art visual fidelity and localization accuracy, while concurrently slashing inference latency by over 80% in sparse layouts and reducing memory overhead by 50% in dense scenarios.

HEART: Hyperspherical Embedding Alignment via Kent-Representation Traversal in Diffusion Models

Text-to-image diffusion models can generate visually stunning images, yet, controlling what appears and how it appears, remains surprisingly difficult, especially when operating solely within the constraints of the text-conditioning space. For example, changing a subject or adjusting an attribute often leads to unintended side effects, such as altered backgrounds or distorted details. This is because most existing text-based control methods treat the embedding space as Euclidean and apply simple linear transformations, which do not reflect how semantic concepts are actually organized. In this work, we take a step back and ask: what is the true geometry of these embeddings? We find that text encoder representations lie on a hypersphere, where concepts are not linear directions but structured, anisotropic distributions better captured by Kent distributions. Building on this insight, we propose HEART, a training-free framework that performs Kent-aware geodesic transformations directly on the hypersphere. By respecting the underlying geometry, HEART enables intuitive and precise edits, such as consistent subject replacement and fine-grained attribute control, while preserving the original scene. Importantly, HEART requires no finetuning, inversion, or optimization, and generalizes across diffusion model architectures. Our results show that a simple shift in perspective, from linear to spherical, can unlock fast, and controllable image generation.
