Abstract
Deformable 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as an efficient approach for rendering dynamic scenes in a wide range of 3D applications. However, existing deformation field-based approaches largely lack explicit object-level modeling, often resulting in inconsistent Gaussian deformations within individual objects and unwanted coupling between different objects. To address this limitation, we introduce a semantics-guided framework that enforces dynamic regularization at the object level, aiming to achieve spatially consistent object-wise deformation. Specifically, we first extract segmentation masks using the Segment Anything Model (SAM) and derive semantic features from input images. An object-ID map is then constructed via feature relevance matching with a predefined object dictionary. Guided by this object-ID map, we identify the pixel-wise top-k contributing Gaussians for each object and impose consistency regularization on their deformation parameters, including position, scale, and rotation. Unlike prior methods that learn deformation fields without explicit object-level constraints, our approach incorporates semantic cues to guide deformation behavior at the object level. Experimental results demonstrate that our semantics-aware regularization improves object-level deformation consistency and outperforms baseline methods in rendering quality, achieving higher PSNR and SSIM and lower LPIPS in dynamic 3DGS rendering. 3D Gaussian Splatting (3D-GS) enables real-time 3D scene reconstruction but lacks robust segmentation for editing tasks such as object removal, extraction, and recoloring. Existing approaches that lift 2D segmentations to the 3D domain suffer from view inconsistencies and coarse masks. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that leverages the Segment Anything Model High Quality (SAM-HQ) to generate accurate 2D masks, addressing the limitations of the standard SAM in boundary fidelity and fine-structure preservation. To achieve robust 3D segmentation of any target object in a given scene, we introduce a prior-guided label reassignment method that assigns labels to 3D Gaussians by enforcing multiview consistency with learned priors. Our approach achieves state-of-the-art segmentation accuracy and enables interactive, real-time object editing while maintaining high visual fidelity. Qualitative results demonstrate superior boundary preservation and practical utility in Virtual Reality (VR) and robotics, advancing 3D scene editing.

Reconstructing dynamic 3D scenes from multi-view videos is a foundational task for robotics, AR/VR, and digital twins. While 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) provides state-of-the art scene representation, its dynamic adaptations (4DGS) face significant challenges. Early MLP-based deformation models excel at interpolating within training frames but fail at temporal extrapolation --- important feature for forecasting in predictive systems. To address this, physically grounded approaches have been proposed to enable robust future forecasting, while, concurrently, semantic 4DGS methods have been developed for scene analysis and language-driven prompting. However, there is currently no framework that unites both physical consistency and semantic understanding. In this paper, we propose the first, to the best of our knowledge, unified 4DGS approach that is both physically grounded and semantically aware. Furthermore, to optimize computational efficiency, we introduce a novel rigid-body constraint mechanism. Instead of predicting the physical dynamics for every Gaussian particle, our model predicts the motion of a single anchor Gaussian per semantic object, updating the remaining Gaussians via relative transformations. This architectural design significantly accelerates novel view synthesis compared to an unconstrained baseline, while enabling object-accurate extrapolation and intuitive semantic interaction. Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have enabled highly efficient and photorealistic novel view synthesis. However, segmenting objects accurately in 3DGS remains challenging due to the discrete nature of Gaussian representations, which often leads to aliasing and artifacts at object boundaries. In this paper, we introduce NG-GS, a novel framework for high-quality object segmentation in 3DGS that explicitly addresses boundary discretization. Our approach begins by automatically identifying ambiguous Gaussians at object boundaries using mask variance analysis. We then apply radial basis function (RBF) interpolation to construct a spatially continuous feature field, enhanced by multi-resolution hash encoding for efficient multi-scale representation. A joint optimization strategy aligns 3DGS with a lightweight NeRF module through alignment and spatial continuity losses, ensuring smooth and consistent segmentation boundaries. Extensive experiments on NVOS, LERF-OVS, and ScanNet benchmarks demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance, with significant gains in boundary mIoU.
