Abstract

Generative CAD modeling has broad design and application potential. Despite significant advances in Boundary Representation (B-Rep) generation, the dominant representation in CAD, existing methods largely depend on uniformly sampled point- or grid-based geometry representations, sacrificing native surface types and parameters and thereby limiting geometric fidelity and downstream usability. We present ParaCAD, an autoregressive framework for point-cloud-conditioned B-Rep generation that directly operates on native parametric surfaces. ParaCAD introduces a surface-centric tokenization that explicitly encodes each face by its exact surface type and continuous parameters, preserving the intrinsic semantics of CAD geometry. Our model first generates parametric surfaces with constrained UV domains, and then constructs a valid B-Rep by globally intersecting these surfaces to recover edges and vertices. ParaCAD places point-cloud-conditioned generation at the core of B-Rep synthesis, making it practical for user-guided reconstruction and seamless integration into existing 3D generation pipelines. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ParaCAD produces accurate B-Reps with faithful point-cloud alignment, outperforming point-based baselines in geometric precision, robustness, watertightness and downstream usability.

BrepCoder: A Unified Multimodal Large Language Model for Multi-task B-rep Reasoning

Recent advancements in deep learning have actively addressed complex challenges within the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) domain. However, most existing approaches rely on task-specifi c models requiring structural modifi cations for new tasks, and they predominantly focus on point clouds or images rather than the industry-standard Boundary Representation (B-rep) format. To address these limitations, we propose BrepCoder, a unifi ed Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM) that performs diverse CAD tasks from B-rep inputs. By leveraging the code generation capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), we convert CAD modeling sequences into Python-like code and align them with B-rep. We then adopt a two-stage training strategy: First, pre-training on reverse engineering to learn geometric features and design logic. Second, eff ectively extending the model to various downstream tasks such as completion, error correction, and CAD-QA. Consequently, by interpreting B-rep as structural code, BrepCoder achieves superior generalization across diverse tasks, demonstrating its potential as a general-purpose CAD agent.

Towards Valid B-Rep Generation: Training-Free Wireframe Anomaly Detection and Repair

Multi-stage boundary representation (B-Rep) generation leverages intermediate wireframes to synthesize CAD models. However, geometric and topological risks in these wireframes -- such as self-intersections, edge collapses, and disconnected vertices -- can propagate to invalid final B-Reps. Mitigating such failures by retraining large generative models is computationally prohibitive. We propose Wireframe Detection and Repair (WDR), a training-free framework that intervenes at the intermediate wireframe stage to improve downstream B-Rep validity. WDR features a Geometric-Topology Anomaly Detector (GTAD) that combines parallel VLM-based coarse screening with geometric and topological detectors to predict downstream invalidity risk and route generation to dedicated branches. An Energy-Guided Geometric-Topology Repair (EGGTR) module then performs detector-triggered guided regeneration through geometry and topology branches. By scaling test-time computation via Energy-Guided Resampling and training-free guidance for diffusion models, WDR can be integrated into autoregressive and diffusion pipelines without retraining. Extensive experiments demonstrate consistent improvements in kernel-checked validity while largely retaining the measured diversity and distributional quality of synthesized CAD models. The code will be made publicly available upon acceptance.

BRepCLIP: Contrastive Multimodal Pretraining on BRep Primitives for CAD Understanding

Learning representations of CAD models is a largely open problem. While 3D representation learning has flourished around point clouds and meshes, the native format of CAD - boundary representations BReps, which encodes exact parametric surfaces, curves, and their topology, has received little attention as a representation learning substrate. We introduce BRepCLIP, the first framework to align BRep geometry with language and image embeddings through contrastive pretraining. We model each CAD object as a sequence of face and edge tokens with separate discrete vocabularies for surface and curve geometry, augmented with spatial and semantic descriptors that capture surface types (e.g., cylindrical, torus, NURBS) and curve primitives (e.g., line, arc, B-spline). A transformer encoder aggregates these tokens into a global BRep embedding, aligned with CLIP's text and image encoders via a joint contrastive objective. BRepCLIP generates more discriminative and semantically grounded embeddings than existing point-based alternatives, improving Top-1 retrieval over OpenShape by 40.4%, 22.0%, and 23.9% on ABC, CADParser, and Automate, respectively, and improving zero-shot classification on FabWave by 15% in Top-1 score. We further demonstrate its utility as a CAD-aware similarity metric for evaluating text and image-conditioned CAD generation, establishing the importance of structure-aware pretraining for multimodal CAD understanding.
