StreamTalk: Streaming Co-Speech Gesture Generation with Key-Pose Anchoring

Abstract

Real-time co-speech gesture generation must produce 3D motion clip by clip as speech arrives. Existing streaming methods are open-loop: each clip depends on past context, but the model cannot check or correct its trajectory. Small errors therefore accumulate and cause drift over long sequences. We observe that this failure is mainly caused by the lack of a forward constraint rather than poor short-clip quality. A plausible key pose at the end of each clip provides a destination anchor that limits drift. Based on this observation, we propose StreamTalk, a closed-loop framework with a periodic generate-retrieve-refine cycle. Streaming Pose-Guided Generation first predicts a coarse clip, retrieves a plausible tail pose from a speaker-specific motion database, and refines the clip using this pose before continuing to the next window. During training, Stochastic Anchor Masking randomly masks pose and translation frames, teaching the model to recover complete motion from sparse boundary conditions. A part-aware DiT separates hand, body, and translation streams to reduce interference between global displacement and local articulation. On BEAT2, StreamTalk achieves state-of-the-art FGD, reduces long-horizon drift relative to open-loop baselines, and runs in real time at 76 FPS. PersonaGesture: Single-Reference Co-Speech Gesture Personalization for Unseen Speakers

We propose PersonaGesture, a diffusion-based pipeline for single-reference co-speech gesture personalization of unseen speakers. Given target speech and one motion clip from a new speaker, the model must synthesize gestures that follow the new utterance while retaining speaker-specific pose choices, without per-speaker optimization. This setting is useful for avatars and virtual agents, but it is hard because the reference mixes stable speaker habits with utterance-specific trajectories. PersonaGesture consists of two key components, Adaptive Style Infusion (ASI) and Implicit Distribution Rectification (IDR), to separate temporal identity evidence from residual statistic correction. A Style Perceiver first encodes the variable-length reference into compact speaker-memory tokens. ASI injects these tokens into denoising through zero-initialized residual cross-attention, enabling style evidence to affect motion formation without replacing the pretrained speech-to-motion prior. Building on this, IDR applies a length-aware diagonal affine map in latent space to correct residual channel-wise moments estimated from the same reference. Across BEAT2 and ZeroEGGS, we evaluate quantitative metrics, reference-identity controls, same-audio diagnostics, qualitative comparisons, and human preference. Experiments show that separating denoising-time speaker memory from conservative post-generation moment correction improves unseen-speaker personalization over collapsed style codes, full-reference attention, and one-clip finetuning. LeapTalk: Breaking the Latency-Quality Trade-off in Talking Head Generation

Long-form and real-time talking-head generation remains challenging due to a latency-quality trade-off: inefficient multi-step diffusion prohibits streaming generation, whereas real-time autoregressive approaches suffer from error accumulation and identity drift. To address this drawback, we propose LeapTalk, a novel framework that achieves stable and real-time talking-head generation with a single forward step, scaling to arbitrarily long videos. At the heart of our approach lies a single-step bridge distillation scheme. On the one hand, departing from the conventional noise-to-data paradigm, we introduce a data-to-data transport formulation based on a Brownian bridge. Anchored by a persistent reference, this strategy effectively mitigates identity drift and enhances long-term temporal stability. On the other hand, to enable smooth knowledge transfer from a pre-trained diffusion teacher to the student bridge model, we explore a heterogeneous distillation framework with an SNR-aligned time transformation Φ(τ)Φ(τ), which bridges the functional discrepancy between the two models. Moreover, we propose an audio-driven classifier-free guidance mechanism to maintain fine-grained lip synchronization under extreme step reduction. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves high-fidelity and temporally consistent video generation with only 1 step at up to 200 FPS, significantly outperforming existing approaches in both efficiency and stability. PersonaGest: Personalized Co-Speech Gesture Generation with Semantic-Guided Hierarchical Motion Representation

Co-speech gesture generation aims to synthesize realistic body movements that are semantically coherent with speech and faithful to a user-specified gestural style. Existing VQ-VAE based co-speech gesture generation methods improve generation quality but fail to encode semantic structure into the motion representation or explicitly disentangle content from style, limiting both semantic coherence and personalization fidelity. We present PersonaGest, a two-stage framework addressing both limitations. In the first stage, a semantic-guided RVQ-VAE disentangles motion content and gestural style within the residual quantization structure, where a Semantic-Aware Motion Codebook (SMoC) organizes the content codebook by gesture semantics and contrastive learning further enforces content-style separation. In the second stage, a Masked Generative Transformer generates content tokens via a semantic-aware re-masking strategy, followed by a cascade of Style Residual Transformers conditioned on a reference motion prompt for style control. Extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art performance on objective metrics and perceptual user studies, with strong style consistency to the reference prompt.
