Abstract
This paper introduces ViTOED, a novel dataset for target-oriented emotion detection in Vietnamese social media texts. The ViTOED comprises 10,985 user comments and 21,244 manually annotated opinion quadruples (source, target, expression, polarity) that follow strict guidelines. The dataset reveals Vietnamese-specific phenomena, such as implicit sources and targets and vocabulary ambiguities, enabling deeper analysis of user emotions toward entities. We propose a baseline using structured sentiment graphs and evaluate various Vietnamese pre-trained language models. The empirical results highlight challenges in span detection and relation extraction and indicate substantial room for model improvement in Vietnamese Target-Oriented Emotion Detection tasks.

We introduce Video2Reaction, a multimodal dataset that maps short movie segments to the induced emotional reactions of viewers in the wild, as expressed through social media comments. Video2Reaction captures the natural diversity of emotional responses by aggregating reactions from online comments at scale, modeling labels as distributions over categorical emotions to better reflect the subjective and ambiguous nature of emotional perception. We benchmark two vision-language models (VLMs) finetuned with LoRA, showing that VLMs learn effectively from Video2Reaction and outperform specialized baselines on dominant reaction prediction. We further demonstrate that VLMs pre-finetuned on Video2Reaction transfer effectively to VCE, another induced emotion dataset with a different taxonomy and video domain. Notably, LLaVA-NeXT-Video-7B pre-finetuned on Video2Reaction and adapted on only 1% of VCE training data achieves a top-3 accuracy of 0.682, on par with the best reported VCE performance trained on the full dataset. Speaker recognition has advanced rapidly with large-scale training datasets, yet Vietnamese remains under-resourced, with existing corpora limited in scale and acoustic diversity. Most large-scale datasets rely on facial cues to link speech with speaker identities, restricting data collection to recordings where speakers appear on camera. We propose a face-independent dataset construction pipeline and introduce VieSpeaker, a large-scale Vietnamese speaker recognition dataset. Our approach leverages textual metadata and large language model reasoning to infer speaker identities from transcripts and contextual information. VieSpeaker contains approximately 902 hours of speech from 4,715 speakers. Experiments show that models trained on VieSpeaker achieve improved robustness and generalization compared to existing Vietnamese datasets. This work demonstrates the feasibility of face-independent dataset construction and provides a new direction for building large-scale speech resources.

We introduce ParsHate, a manually annotated dataset of 10,000 Persian tweets spanning 2013-2022, representing the first decade-long benchmark for hate speech detection in Persian. The dataset contains 31% hateful content and supports both hate detection and multi-label fine-grained target identification across seven structured target categories. ParsHate also distinguishes explicit and implicit hate, marks explicit and implicit targets, and provides span-level rationales. Data collection combines random and score-stratified temporal sampling to reduce keyword-driven bias while preserving natural label distributions. Applying SOTA models for Persian hate-speech detection on ParsHate shows moderate performance (79% F1), especially with samples from earlier years, and low performance with target identification (25.5% macro-F1). This emphasizes the diverse sampling of hate speech in ParsHate and its challenging nature that requires more advanced methods for better performance. Dataset is made publicly available.
