Abstract

Monocular temporal 3D detection aims to detect objects in 3D, given a monocular video. Query-based 3D detectors unify detection and cross-view association, but their learnable queries fit the spatial distribution of the training data (e.g., field-of-view). We show that this issue is especially severe when these models are applied to monocular video, hindering generalization to unseen datasets and environments. To address this limitation, we introduce MAGneT-3D, the first method for domain-generalized monocular temporal 3D object detection. Instead of relying on static learnable queries, we propose a Domain-Robust Anchor Generator (DRAG) approach that adaptively derives 3D proposals during inference. To further enable domain generalization, we propose a Temporal Refinement and Identity Merging (TRIM) strategy, reducing dependence on specific 3D proposals. To enable comprehensive domain-generalization evaluation, we establish a cross-dataset benchmark spanning nuScenes, Waymo, Lyft, and ONCE. Under zero-shot domain shifts, MAGneT-3D outperforms all baselines, improving NDS from 12.1% to 18.6% while also increasing in-domain accuracy.

PLOT: Pseudo-Labeling via Object Tracking for Monocular 3D Object Detection

Monocular 3D object detection is crucial for scalable perception across fields like autonomous driving, robotics, and surveillance. However, progress is hindered by limited 3D annotations and the inherent ambiguity of single-image geometry. Existing methods often rely on strong geometric assumptions or carefully curated datasets, which limit their applicability to real-world scenarios. In this paper, we present PLOT (Pseudo-Labeling via Object Tracking), a framework that generates 3D annotations from monocular videos without auxiliary sensors or model retraining. PLOT tracks object and background trajectories to estimate camera motion and perform object association in pose-unknown settings. These trajectories provide point correspondences that align frame-wise pseudo-LiDARs, which are then fused via simple optimization into a unified object shape robust to occlusion and viewpoint shifts. Recognizing temporal coherence as a fundamental requirement for reliable shape fusion and video perception, we design a global object memory that preserves consistent object identities across frames. PLOT achieves robust annotation quality and strong generalization on both M3OD video benchmarks and in-the-wild videos, proving its effectiveness across diverse and unconstrained domains. PQR3D: Progressive Query Refinement over Reference-Conditioned Temporal Windows for Multi-View 3D Object Detection

Temporal context is essential for camera-only multi-view 3D object detection. Existing streaming detectors maintain and propagate query states from one frame to the next, requiring sequence-aware training and chronological inference. We propose PQR3D, which performs progressive query refinement within referenceconditioned temporal windows. This design enables random frame sampling and independent inference without persistent query memory. Within each window, PQR3D progressively transfers motion-aligned high-confidence queries from earlier timestamps toward the target frame. We further introduce masked selfattention to regulate interactions among regular, propagated, and denoising queries while keeping denoising supervision isolated from detection queries. In addition, a stage-decoupled anchor embedding injects position before self-attention and size, orientation, and velocity afterward, reducing interference from temporally inconsistent attributes. With a ViT-L backbone, PQR3D sets a new state of the art on the nuScenes test set, achieving 71.6 NDS and 64.9 mAP. Source code is available at https://github.com/huiyegit/PQR3D

LeAD-M3D: Leveraging Asymmetric Distillation for Real-Time Monocular 3D Detection

Real-time monocular 3D object detection remains challenging due to severe depth ambiguity, viewpoint shifts, and the high computational cost of 3D reasoning. Existing approaches either rely on LiDAR or geometric priors to compensate for missing depth or sacrifice efficiency to achieve competitive accuracy. We introduce LeAD-M3D, a monocular 3D detector that achieves state-of-the-art accuracy and real-time inference without extra modalities. Our method is enabled by three key components. Asymmetric Augmentation Denoising Distillation (A2D2) transfers geometric knowledge from a clean-image teacher to a MixUp-noised student via a quality- and importance-weighted depth-feature loss, enabling stronger depth reasoning without LiDAR. 3D-aware Consistent Matching (CM3D_{\text{3D}}) improves prediction-to-ground truth assignment by integrating 3D MGIoU into the matching score, yielding stable and precise supervision. Finally, Confidence-Gated 3D Inference (CGI3D_{\text{3D}}) accelerates inference by restricting expensive 3D regression to confident regions. Together, these contributions set a new Pareto frontier for monocular 3D detection: LeAD-M3D achieves state-of-the-art accuracy on KITTI and Waymo, and the best reported car AP on Rope3D, while running up to 3.6 ×\,\times faster than prior high-accuracy models (e.g., MonoDiff). LeAD-M3D demonstrates that high fidelity and real-time monocular 3D detection is simultaneously attainable, without LiDAR, stereo, or strong geometric assumptions.
