FlashRender: Few-Step Generative Rendering via Camera-Controlled Video MeanFlow

Authors: Byeongjun ParkByung-Hoon KimHyungjin Chung

Abstract

We present FlashRender, a few-step generative rendering framework that retakes a source video along a target camera trajectory in seconds. We identify sampling-step-dependent camera control as a prominent manifestation of discretization error in existing multi-step generative rendering models and show that resolving this inconsistency substantially lowers denoising trajectory curvature, facilitating subsequent step distillation. To this end, we introduce Representation Transformation and Alignment (RETA), which aligns hidden source-video representations with target-video features from a frozen visual geometry model. This directly encodes the geometric transformation within the source-video stream, enabling sampling-step-consistent camera control. We then fine-tune the model with the MeanFlow objective on the lower-curvature denoising trajectory induced by RETA, allowing the model to more effectively address discretization error. Finally, we apply on-policy flow map distillation to correct self-rollout errors under fixed few-step sampling. Extensive experiments show that RETA, MeanFlow, and on-policy flow map distillation play complementary roles in few-step generative rendering. Together, they enable our approach to match multi-step baselines in video quality and geometric consistency at 25x lower sampling cost while achieving superior camera controllability, even under out-of-distribution target camera trajectories.

SierpinskiCam: Camera-Controlled Video Retaking with Sierpinski Triangle Pattern Cues

Generating novel renderings of a scene along user-defined camera trajectories from a single monocular video, dubbed video retaking, is a compelling but difficult problem in content creation and visual effects. Existing geometry-guided approaches reconstruct a 4D representation from the source video and render it along the target trajectory to condition video diffusion models. However, this guidance degrades as the target camera departs from the source trajectory, leaving newly revealed regions sparse or entirely missing. We propose SierpinskiCam, which addresses this limitation by augmenting geometry-based guidance with Sierpinski dome texture cues that contains rich trackable features even under large viewpoint changes. We further introduce a reference video conditioning mechanism that appends source-video tokens to the target-token sequence and separates the two streams with negative RoPE indices, enabling appearance grounding without architectural modification or per-video adaptation. Extensive experiments show that SierpinskiCam achieves significant gains in camera controllability, geometric consistency, and video quality across diverse and challenging retaking scenarios. AnyFlow: Any-Step Video Diffusion Model with On-Policy Flow Map Distillation

Few-step video generation has been significantly advanced by consistency distillation. However, the performance of consistency-distilled models often degrades as more sampling steps are allocated at test time, limiting their effectiveness for any-step video diffusion. This limitation arises because consistency distillation replaces the original probability-flow ODE trajectory with a consistency-sampling trajectory, weakening the desirable test-time scaling behavior of ODE sampling. To address this limitation, we introduce AnyFlow, the first any-step video diffusion distillation framework based on flow maps. Instead of distilling a model for only a few fixed sampling steps, AnyFlow optimizes the full ODE sampling trajectory. To this end, we shift the distillation target from endpoint consistency mapping (ztz0)(z_{t}\rightarrow z_{0}) to flow-map transition learning (ztzr)(z_{t}\rightarrow z_{r}) over arbitrary time intervals. We further propose Flow Map Backward Simulation, which decomposes a full Euler rollout into shortcut flow-map transitions, enabling efficient on-policy distillation that reduces test-time errors (i.e., discretization error in few-step sampling and exposure bias in causal generation). Extensive experiments across both bidirectional and causal architectures, at scales ranging from 1.3B to 14B parameters, demonstrate that AnyFlow achieves performance matches or surpasses consistency-based counterparts in the few-step regime, while scaling with sampling step budgets.

Geo-Align: Video Generation Alignment via Metric Geometry Reward

Camera-controlled video generation has achieved remarkable progress in recent years. However, existing video-to-video re-rendering methods primarily rely on Supervised Fine-Tuning using synthetic datasets. At present, there is an extreme scarcity of synchronized, multi-view real-world video data. Consequently, the prevailing paradigm often exhibits limited generalization when processing out-of-distribution real-world videos, with models struggling to accurately adhere to physical scales and camera trajectories. To bridge this gap, we propose Geo-Align, the first Reinforcement Learning framework specifically designed for camera-controlled video re-rendering. Built upon a pretrained model, we optimize the model through a scale-aware perceptual reward mechanism. Specifically, we introduce a metric 3D estimator to extract precise camera trajectories from generated videos, explicitly penalizing deviations in rotation and translation. Furthermore, we meticulously designed a data pipeline strategy based on real-world conditioning videos and target camera trajectories derived from synthetic data, eliminating the reliance on paired data. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Geo-Align consistently outperforms existing supervised learning baselines in both precise camera controllability and visual fidelity, indicating the effectiveness of our method.
