Abstract

Semantic segmentation on very-high-resolution images remains challenging due to the high computational cost and the difficulty of capturing fine-grained details. We propose CoordFormer, a novel coordinate-based architecture for semantic segmentation that predicts labels at arbitrary spatial locations through a Coordinate Decoder equipped with a Localized Cross-Attention mechanism. The decoder combines coordinate embeddings with high-resolution local patch features and interacts with global tokens extracted from a downsampled image processed by a ViT foundation encoder, enabling rich semantic context while preserving pixel-level precision. This design enables flexible inference at arbitrary resolutions while keeping memory low on very-high-resolution inputs, and supports an efficient semantic-edge-focused strategy that concentrates computation along boundaries, maintaining fine-grained accuracy while reducing latency and computational cost. CoordFormer achieves state-of-the-art performance on MaSS13K and outperforms comparably sized and higher-parameter methods on DIS5K and KPIs, demonstrating its effectiveness for high-quality, very-high-resolution semantic segmentation.

Structure-Semantic Decoupled Modulation of Global Geospatial Embeddings for High-Resolution Remote Sensing Mapping

Fine-grained high-resolution remote sensing mapping typically relies on localized visual features, which restricts cross-domain generalizability and often leads to fragmented predictions of large-scale land covers. While global geospatial foundation models offer powerful, generalizable representations, directly fusing their high-dimensional implicit embeddings with high-resolution visual features frequently triggers feature interference and spatial structure degradation due to a severe semantic-spatial gap. To overcome these limitations, we propose a Structure-Semantic Decoupled Modulation (SSDM) framework, which decouples global geospatial representations into two complementary cross-modal injection pathways. First, the structural prior modulation branch introduces the macroscopic receptive field priors from global representations into the self-attention modules of the high-resolution encoder. By guiding local feature extraction with holistic structural constraints, it effectively suppresses prediction fragmentation caused by high-frequency detail noise and excessive intra-class variance. Second, the global semantic injection branch explicitly aligns holistic context with the deep high-resolution feature space and directly supplements global semantics via cross-modal integration, thereby significantly enhancing the semantic consistency and category-level discrimination of complex land covers. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance compared to existing cross-modal fusion approaches. By unleashing the potential of global embeddings, SSDM consistently improves high-resolution mapping accuracy across diverse scenarios, providing a universal and effective paradigm for integrating geospatial foundation models into high-resolution vision tasks.

MARS-CLIP: Multi-Resolution and Attention Refined Zero-Shot Image Segmentation

Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) has demonstrated impressive capabilities in zero-shot transfer but often struggles with dense prediction tasks due to low spatial resolution and the loss of structural information. To address these limitations, we propose MARS-CLIP (Multi-resolution and Attention Refined Segmentation for CLIP), a novel framework for zero-shot semantic segmentation. Our approach introduces two key strategies: (i) a multi-resolution feature extraction module that fuses local fine-grained features with global context to overcome input resolution constraints, and (ii) an attention refinement mechanism that injects spatial and color biases from intermediate layers into the final self-attention block to accurately restore object boundaries. A set of experiments on six public datasets demonstrates that MARS-CLIP significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Semantic Alignment in Hyperbolic Space for Open-Vocabulary Semantic Segmentation

Open-vocabulary semantic segmentation requires adapting image-level vision-language models such as CLIP to dense pixel-level prediction, which is challenging due to the mismatch between hierarchical structure and semantic alignment in the embedding space. While recent works leverage hyperbolic geometry to model hierarchical relationships, they align embeddings across hierarchical levels but overlook semantic misalignment among embeddings within the same level. In this work, we propose HyRo, a hyperbolic fine-tuning framework that decouples hierarchical and semantic alignment in the Poincaré ball model. HyRo aligns hierarchical levels by adjusting the hyperbolic radius and refines semantic relationships through angular alignment using an orthogonal transformation that theoretically preserves the hyperbolic radius. Experiments on standard open-vocabulary semantic segmentation benchmarks demonstrate that HyRo achieves state-of-the-art performance over prior methods.
