Abstract

The rapid progress of generative artificial intelligence has led to a significant increase in manipulated multimedia content, including synthetic faces, forged videos, AI-generated images, fake audio, and locally edited images. Existing detection approaches are typically designed for a single manipulation type, limiting their applicability in real-world scenarios involving heterogeneous media sources. In this work, we present the Media Intelligence Platform (MIP), a unified web-based framework for multimodal media forensics integrating specialized modules for fake video detection, face morphing detection, AI-generated image detection, audio deepfake detection, localized image manipulation detection, and text analysis. Its modular architecture enables flexible integration of heterogeneous models and supports future extensions for emerging manipulation techniques. Experimental results on representative benchmark datasets demonstrate reliable detection performance across multiple media modalities while providing a practical and user-friendly interface for forensic investigations. The platform highlights the potential of unified multimodal systems for comprehensive deepfake detection in real-world environments, and is accompanied by a public demonstrator released with this workshop submission to support reproducibility and community evaluation.

DeepFake Forensics AI: A Multi-Modal Detection and Blockchain-Anchored Evidence Management Platform

The proliferation of AI-generated synthetic media poses a critical threat to the integrity of digital evidence in legal and forensic contexts. Existing deepfake detection systems typically address a single modality and provide no mechanism for tamper-proof evidence preservation. We present DeepFake Forensics AI, a unified platform that detects synthetic media across image, video, and audio modalities, identifies generative architecture fingerprints, and anchors forensic evidence immutably on the Ethereum blockchain. Our system trains four independent neural networks from scratch: an EfficientNet-B4 image detector (AUC = 0.9868), a Bidirectional LSTM video detector (AUC= 0.9628), an ECAPA-TDNN audio detector (EER = 18.63%), and a novel GAN fingerprinting module (accuracy = 99.88%) that identifies the generative architecture behind a fake image. Evidence files are hashed with SHA-256, stored on IPFS via Pinata, and registered on-chain via a Solidity smart contract with role-based access control. The platform provides a React frontend and FastAPI backend suitable for deployment in forensic and legal workflows. To our knowledge, this is the first system to unify multi-modal deepfake detection with blockchain-based chain-of custody management.

DYMAPIA: A Multi-Domain Framework for Detecting AI-based Video Manipulation

AI-generated media are advancing rapidly, raising pressing concerns for content authenticity and digital trust. We introduce DYMAPIA, a multi-domain Deepfake detection framework that fuses spatial, spectral, and temporal cues to capture subtle traces of manipulation in visual data. The system builds dynamic anomaly masks by combining evidence from Fourier spectra, local texture descriptors, edge irregularities, and optical flow consistency, which highlight tampered regions with fine spatial accuracy. These masks guide DistXCNet, a lightweight classifier distilled from Xception and optimized with depthwise separable convolutions for fast, region-focused classification. This joint design achieves state-of-the-art results, with accuracy and F1-scores exceeding 99% on FF++, Celeb-DF, and VDFD benchmarks, while keeping the model compact enough for real-time use. Beyond outperforming existing full-frame and multidomain detectors, DYMAPIA demonstrates deployment readiness for time-critical forensic tasks, including media verification, misinformation defense, and secure content filtering.

Deepfake Media Generation and Detection in the Generative AI Era: A Survey and Outlook

We survey deepfake generation and detection techniques, covering all deepfake media types: image, video, audio and multimodal content. We identify various kinds of deepfakes and construct taxonomies of deepfake generation and detection methods, illustrating the important groups of methods. Next, we gather datasets used for deepfake detection and provide updated rankings of the best performing detectors on the most popular datasets. In addition, we develop a novel multimodal benchmark to evaluate deepfake detectors on out-of-distribution content. The results indicate that state-of-the-art detectors fail to generalize to deepfakes generated by unseen generators.
