Abstract

We present PixGR, an efficient framework that integrates lightweight pixel-space generative modeling into feed-forward 3D Gaussian reconstruction to model scene uncertainty. Context observations are encoded once into a scene latent representation, which conditions generative decoding from noisy target views to produce a shared 3D Gaussian representation. We formulate this process using pixel-space flow matching, enabling end-to-end optimization of 3D reconstruction with direct pixel-space generative supervision through differentiable rendering. This avoids VAE-based latent compression and error propagation inherent in previous two-stage pipelines. To preserve feed-forward efficiency, PixGR caches the scene representation and performs iterative inference using a lightweight DiT decoder. Experiments demonstrate that PixGR outperforms regression-based approaches in challenging sparse-view settings, particularly with widely spaced observations and view extrapolation. Meanwhile, it maintains sub-second inference and remains competitive with substantially heavier pretrained generative models. Our project page is available at https://ranrhuang.github.io/pixgr/.

GIFSplat: Generative Prior-Guided Iterative Feed-Forward 3D Gaussian Splatting from Sparse Views

Feed-forward 3D reconstruction offers substantial runtime advantages over per-scene optimization, which remains slow at inference and often fragile under sparse views. However, existing feed-forward methods still have potential for further performance gains, especially for out-of-domain data, and struggle to retain second-level inference time once a generative prior is introduced. These limitations stem from the one-shot prediction paradigm in existing feed-forward pipeline: models are strictly bounded by capacity, lack inference-time refinement, and are ill-suited for continuously injecting generative priors. We introduce GIFSplat, a purely feed-forward iterative refinement framework for 3D Gaussian Splatting from sparse unposed views. A small number of forward-only residual updates progressively refine current 3D scene using rendering evidence, achieve favorable balance between efficiency and quality. Furthermore, we distill a frozen diffusion prior into Gaussian-level cues from enhanced novel renderings without gradient backpropagation or ever-increasing view-set expansion, thereby enabling per-scene adaptation with generative prior while preserving feed-forward efficiency. Across DL3DV, RealEstate10K, and DTU, GIFSplat consistently outperforms state-of-the-art feed-forward baselines, improving PSNR by up to +2.1 dB, and it maintains second-scale inference time without requiring camera poses or any test-time gradient optimization.

PixWorld: Unifying 3D Scene Generation and Reconstruction in Pixel Space

3D reconstruction and generation are commonly tackled by separate paradigms: pixel-based regression for reconstruction, and latent diffusion for generation. Recent works attempt to unify them in latent space, but with notable drawbacks: the diffusion objective is defined on latent features rather than the underlying 3D representation, and both branches suffer from information loss introduced by latent encoding, while requiring a pretrained Variational Autoencoder (VAE) or Representation Autoencoder (RAE). In this paper, we reformulate these two tasks under a unified pixel-space diffusion paradigm and introduce PixWorld, a single model that jointly addresses 3D reconstruction and generation. By supervising diffusion directly on rendered images, PixWorld removes the above limitations and aligns optimization with 3D scene fidelity. Beyond photometric and perceptual supervision that operates at the 2D image level and lacks 3D geometric awareness, we further introduce a geometry perception loss that aligns rendered views with their ground truth in the geometry-aware feature space of a pretrained 3D foundation model, providing 3D structural supervision. PixWorld consistently outperforms prior latent-space generation methods and matches state-of-the-art reconstruction methods, demonstrating the superiority of a unified pixel-space approach.

Free-Range Gaussians: Non-Grid-Aligned Generative 3D Gaussian Reconstruction

We present Free-Range Gaussians, a multi-view reconstruction method that predicts non-pixel, non-voxel-aligned 3D Gaussians from as few as four images. This is done through flow matching over Gaussian parameters. Our generative formulation of reconstruction allows the model to be supervised with non-grid-aligned 3D data, and enables it to synthesize plausible content in unobserved regions. Thus, it improves on prior methods that produce highly redundant grid-aligned Gaussians, and suffer from holes or blurry conditional means in unobserved regions. To handle the number of Gaussians needed for high-quality results, we introduce a hierarchical patching scheme to group spatially related Gaussians into joint transformer tokens, halving the sequence length while preserving structure. We further propose a timestep-weighted rendering loss during training, and photometric gradient guidance and classifier-free guidance at inference to improve fidelity. Experiments on Objaverse and Google Scanned Objects show consistent improvements over pixel and voxel-aligned methods while using significantly fewer Gaussians, with large gains when input views leave parts of the object unobserved.
